Mexita Nijmegen 🇲🇽 — Restaurant in Nijmegen

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt I needed to share my experience to help others. We visited on a Wednesday night and were told we could only order à la carte — one starter and one main dish. We struggled to find a starter we liked since most options were variations of carpaccio. For the main course, we ordered the chicken burrito and the steak. After placing our order, the waiter informed us that the portions were “medium size,” so we shouldn’t have high expectations. Unfortunately, even with lowered expectations, the food was disappointing. The chicken burrito consisted only of rice and chicken, with beans and dressings oddly served on the side. Both the rice and the chicken were dry and tough, as if they had been reheated and stuck together in one solid mass. The steak wasn’t much better — it tasted stale, and the garnish was just a few vegetables thrown together without any thought or flavor. Overall, the meal was mediocre at best, and I would not...

Honestly for the food we had and the price it came in total it was pretty damn good! Best lasagna and a tiramisu I had in a while that is definitely a recommendation from my side! The burgers we ordered was also really good, the meat was nicely done. The only thing I have to admit is the starter plater comes with three plastic bowls, so if you come with children and order that do note if you let them put the sauce themselves on the bread or onions they might knock it out and spill it since the weight of the bowls is super light. Other than that great service, the waitress were super kind and helpful - atmosphere was amazing so was the food!

I had such a great experience at this restaurant. I’m Muslim and I care about not eating alcohol or pork. The server always checked with the chef what I could pick, which I really appreciated. The food tasted amazing, and by the end of the day I was very full! They welcomed me with a snack platter chips, bread, and dip, such a nice start. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Since it’s all you can eat( from sociaal deal) I got to try lots of dishes, and everything was delicious. They even gave out free postcards(nearly by the wc’s), such a fun touch! I left completely satisfied and would definitely recommend this...
