Location of Salt is perfect especially for visits during summer. Parking is available in the area (paid). The restaurant sits in the dunes on the edge of the beach and North Sea. The place has a nautical theme, lots of white with blue accents. During our visit it was too cold to dine outside. Inside there is a big fish tank. Being an all fish restaurant that makes sense. Tip; don’t sit close to it, it smells! The restaurant was completely full. Tables were pretty close to each other so there was a bit less privacy. Food was pretty good. Especially the tuna starter and mixed grill. Sadly the lobster in the mixed grill was over cooked making it dry and chewy. Service was basic. They are friendly and mainly just put down the plates or drinks. No explanation of the dishes. Especially the starters really were looking pretty and complex so could do with an introduction of what is what. And they missed bringing us a glass of wine we ordered, did not explain that you order side dishes (like fries) with you main separately, etc.
That’s why I came to a 3 star recommendation. We spend € 200pp (including 2 GinTonic, 2 glasses of wine and one dessert). At that price level I expect a lot more service, better seating, little bit more privacy, etc. There are plenty restaurants offering just that and your total bill would be between € 200-250. Alternatively they would get a better rating (4 stars) when our total bill would be maximum € 150. And a different point; dogs are allowed in the restaurant. The place already is pretty cramped so if you don’t like dogs to much, this is definitely not your place. Conclusion; nice location, food oké...
Read moreThe restaurant was full by certain time so I might assume that my case is an exception 😎. All my comments are about the service as location is great, food presentation is 5*. We arrived with pre-ordered reservation when there were just 2 tables occupied : *Administrator passed along us without even greeting couple of times *When we asked for the attention, she checked our reservation and gave a table to share with other people, which was a bit weird. Table without a sign of reservation . Table with dirty glasses. the dirty glasses and bottles from previous guests were not taken for a long time. It was done when I called the waiter for that as I was offered a large table I asked to give another next to us empty, clean with reserved sign. I was advised that it is reserved for large company ( but by the time we were leaving that table was still empty) *I was with a baby of 3 and we were never offered a high chair or kids menu first I ordered starters and asked more time to read the menu for main dishes, but I was never asked if we want to order smth else for main or dessert *as for starters waiting time was 40 minutes *bill waiting time was 15 minutes 🙄 Awkward feeling 😕 after...
Read moreWe had a great evening at Salt. When we came we were a little disappointed because we had a table at the entrance even though we did a reservation weeks in advance nur the staff was very thoughtful and offered another table as soon as it was free. The Food was incredibly good. I had the seabrass which was great although the size was a little tiny considering the price. On the other hand the sides where of high quality too and it was looking fancy too. But my spouse had the lobster risotto and i was very suprised to see that the size of the plate absolutly overwhelmed my expectations. Drinks I had a Gin Tonic and an Espresso Martini. Gin Tonic was good but nothing extraordinary, Espresso Martini was out of the ordinary good.
