I recently had the pleasure of dining at KOAL Aruba, and I must say it was an exceptional experience that left a lasting impression. Nestled in a refurbished historical building, which happened to be the island's first pharmacy, KOAL Aruba beautifully combines history, gastronomy, and impeccable hospitality.

The creative vision behind KOAL Aruba is evident in every detail, particularly in the repurposed elements like the old tin ceiling tiles, which add a touch of nostalgia and authenticity to the ambiance.

Now, let's talk about the stars of this culinary haven: Chef Albert and host Tommie. Chef Albert's culinary prowess shines through each meticulously crafted dish. The artistry and innovation he brings to the table are truly unparalleled. Each bite was a harmonious symphony of flavors, textures, and presentation. From the appetizer to the decadent dessert, every dish was a work of culinary genius.

But it's not just the food that sets KOAL Aruba apart; it's the unparalleled service provided by the affable and attentive host, Tommie. From the moment we arrived until the end of our meal, Tommie's warmth and professionalism made us feel like honored guests. His knowledge of the menu and wine pairings were spot-on, enhancing our overall dining experience.

KOAL Aruba is a seamless fusion of history and contemporary gastronomy. The restaurant has flawlessly transformed the old pharmacy into a modern culinary destination, creating an atmosphere that is both nostalgic and stylish. It's a place where the past meets the present, and the result is nothing short of breathtaking.

KOAL Aruba offers a dining experience that transcends the ordinary. It's a place where you can indulge your senses, savoring exquisite flavors in an environment steeped in history. The combination of Chef Albert's culinary mastery, Tommie's exceptional hospitality, and the restaurant's unique setting truly make it a gem that should...

This is one of those rare reviews where 5 stars just doesn’t seem like enough. The Koal restaurant is not just a restaurant, it’s an entire EXPERIENCE that knocked my socks off and that I have a feeling will remain in my top 3 culinary experiences for a really long time.

We were a large party celebrating a friend’s birthday and made the reservation months in advance. From the moment we reserved, the restaurant remained in contact with us to check on food allergies and to ensure the menu being served was something everyone could enjoy.

The establishment itself is set in a very unassuming area (you can totally think you’re in the wrong place but the Koal sign tells you otherwise) and is nestled within an old Aruban building near the downtown area. Yet when you are welcomed in by the head chef you’re immediately transported to a venue worthy of a Food Network show being filmed in. The kitchen and dining area are all one and there is a quaint courtyard out back where you are invited to sip complimentary bubbles and enjoy the beautiful evening weather before dinner service begins.

The chefs do a spectacular job of explaining the service - menu, recommended wine pairing options for each course and the flow. When I tell you the explanation of each course made my mouth water it’s not a lie … but my mouth wasn’t prepared in the least bit for what each and every morsel of this food would taste like … HANDS DOWN THE BEST FOOD I’VE HAD IN MY LIFE! There’s honestly nothing I did not absolutely LOVE! Everything was PERFECT!

And if that’s not enough, the chefs have personalities perfect for this type of dining experience as they are able to organically engage with everyone, have witty senses of humor and are pretty easy on the eyes too.

If you’re in Aruba and looking for a unique experience this is it! We can’t wait to visit again on...

Koal is unlike any dining experience you’ve ever had. From the moment you arrive, you know this is going to be something truly special. It feels like walking into someone’s home, and Tom and Albert are so inviting and passionate that it’s felt in every part of the evening. After a glass of champagne in the courtyard, you’re welcomed inside where Albert walks you through the five-course menu, and Tom explains the perfect wine pairings for the evening. Everything is thoughtfully prepared; it’s clear from the start. Watching Chef Albert work is like watching Michelangelo paint the Sistine Chapel. Every move is precise, down to the smallest detail. What he does is truly an art form. There’s nowhere else you can get this close to a chef of Albert’s caliber; it’s amazing to see him work. Every flavor is intentional, every ingredient fresh, and each dish blends perfectly. No exaggeration, this was the best meal I’ve ever had, and everyone in our group agreed. Tom complements Albert’s cooking perfectly. He’s incredibly personable, ensuring every guest is comfortable and enjoying themselves. After each course, he checks in with each person to make sure the dish was to their liking; you can tell he has a true gift for this. The pacing of the evening was perfect too. After the third course, there’s a planned break to relax and digest, making the whole experience feel intentional and unrushed. Every moment felt thoughtfully designed. I can’t say enough about Koal it’s absolutely worth every penny and a must-do if you’re visiting Aruba. Thank you, Tom and Albert, for your unwavering passion it shines through in every detail. This was an unforgettable evening we will...
