Que Pasa Restaurant is a hidden gem in Aruba! Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted by a wine room that teases their excellent wine selection. The restaurant’s ambiance is elegant, romantic, lively without feeling snobby. Our server was warm, attentive, prompt and helpful with us navigating the menu. Starters: they give you complimentary bread, but it was like warm pretzel buns. Bit of crunch on the outside, warm and soft on the inside. It’s accompanied by two dips, an aioli and chimichurri type of dip. This was a unique delicious treat to start the night. Appetizers: Caesar salad with boiled egg, croutons, and bacon bits. Typically in the states, Caesar salad may not have the egg, bacon…so this was a tasty addition. My wife had the Philadelphia roll which she described as tasting fresh and flavorful. Main course: I had the Smoked Duck breast in Red Wine sauce with potatoes mousseline topped with red beet. My Duck was cooked to order (well done), skin had nice light crunch, duck tender and flavorful! The red wine sauce provided a sweet addition. I could not stop dipping and swirling every bite in the sauce. My wife had the filet mignon which was cooked to order, tender, juicy, mouth watering deliciousness! The potatoes were so smoothly whipped and rich and the asparagus had crunch and was not over cooked. You can tell how good it was in the video. Desert-I had the grand desert and it was as grand as its name! The chef designs three deserts for you to try, mine included: cheesecake with a blueberry sauce, brownie with a caramel and ice cream top, second cheese cake with a fruit topping. Let’s just say desert bliss! Every bite was sweet euphoric experience. My wife had the lava cake that exploded with chocolate with one slice of the fork! Recommendation: if you are a wine lover, sushi lover, 5 star menu seeker, foodie, please visit Que Pasa! It was worth every dollar spent. The portions were beyond reasonable, food tasted exquisite, and service was above and beyond.

I chose this restaurant for our 1 anniversary dinner due to its good reviews (google and trip advisor). I can say that the overall experience was nice: the waiters are really kind, the place is nicely decorated with art pieces that can be bought and the food (a bit on the gourmet and on the small side) was very good. We ordered the grouper (fish), and a fillet mignon, which is served like a burger with seafood in between two loafs of meet. I already knew that the restaurant was expensive (e.g. the fillet mignon dish was $28,5). However, when the bill arrived I noticed that I had been charged $6 extra for the two side dishes (french fries), which I thought was included in the dish prices, because their menu explicitly says that the side dish is included with the main dish. To make matters worse, my fillet mignon cost one extra dollar ($29,5) for some reason, even though I double-checked the price on my way out, and it was $28,5. I felt ripped off! I can tolerate one honest mistake, but two mistakes in the same bill is surely no coincidence! The place is definitely nice, cozzy and the food is top quality, but I didn't like the street-smart attitude to get more money out of the customers.

This place is a hidden gem. And I almost don't want to advertise it because I don't want it to get too popular. The venue is relaxed, with a fun decor, friendly atmosphere, and great staff. We ordered the chef's platter as an appetizer, and as main dishes my friend ordered the mixed grill and I ordered the tuna steak. The chef's platter is a mixture between some of the daily specials and appetizers from the regular menu. We got lucky and got the veal, chorizo, and mushroom stew in a wine burgundy sauce, salmon with asparagus with an artichoke sauce, beef carpaccio, fried shrimp with a sweet and spicy sauce, black olive tapenade, and bread. Needles to say, everything was delicious, but the best was the carpaccio and the stew. I used all the bread to soak up the sauce from the stew, it was that good. My tuna steak was excellent, cooked rare, with vegetables, and a nice teriyaki sauce. My friends mixed grill was also delicious. The steak was cook perfectly and with the chimichurri sauce is good. This place is definitely a must if you're in Old Town.

Well. Let me tell you why I put 1 star. The 1 star is for that one girl whom me and my partner unfortunately dont know her name that gave us good service. Other than that there is allot and I mean allot of room for improvement:

Food is not special, it was ok, passable which is disappointing since the price me and my partner paid was not for passable food but good delicious food and thats not what we were given, it feels like there is no effort put into the flavors or presentation, it was very basic.

Hygiene. The host wanted to place us near the bar which isnt a bad location at all but it smelled heavily of bathroom. We really couldnt imagine and hope that the smell was not coming from the kitchen. It was strong enough for us to ask to be seated elsewhere because it was unappetizing.

Service, the waiters and waitresses dont bat an eye at you if you are not their table to wait, nobody checks up to see how the food is or if you need anything. Our waitress was busy tending to other tables for a long time so it would take really long before we would see her again or could get her attention and ask for something, beside that she was very kind but we really wish the other waiters and or waitresses would get out of their way to check up, that alone would improve the experience that a client could have at any restaurant.

Experience, one of the waiters that was pouring water, spilled allot of it on the floor right next to our table, an accident can always happen we completely understand. What we dont understand is why nobody came to mop it, the spilled water was all over the floor by our table the whole time we were there from when we got our appetizers to main course until we left and literally nobody working there cared to clean it up.

Our main courses came separately with a long waiting time inbetween, that was also disappointing. We ordered them together and would like to receive all of them together.

For the location that dragonfly has they have allot of opportunity to make a good name for themselves culinary wise and experience wise but it seems that they dont want that cause judging by the amount of people giving the same kind of suggestions to improve food and service both still hasnt improved.

I wont come here again until I see reviews stating a good culinary experience and a good service experience.

Upon arriving at Que Pasa Restaurant, my anticipation was high as I had heard great things about the place. However, the evening didn't unfold quite as I had hoped. The restaurant was understaffed, resulting in an unfortunate delay in service. While the staff displayed good manners and were apologetic about the situation, their efficiency suffered, leaving a lot to be desired.

I had made a reservation for 8:00 PM, expecting a seamless dining experience. However, I wasn't seated until 8:20 PM, which was a bit frustrating. It took another 24 minutes for my order to be taken, adding to the overall sense of inefficiency.

Despite the slow service, I must acknowledge that the staff remained courteous throughout the evening. Their polite demeanor did help alleviate some of the frustration caused by the delays. However, it couldn't overshadow the fact that the timing of the whole experience felt out of sync.

While I did appreciate the ambiance and the effort put into the restaurant's décor, I couldn't help but feel disappointed that the evening didn't leave a lasting impression. The slow service detracted from what could have been a truly memorable dining experience.

Considering the circumstances, I would recommend visiting Que Pasa Restaurant on a more casual night, when time constraints and high expectations won't play a significant role. It may be better suited for a laid-back gathering with friends rather than a special occasion or a first date, where making a good impression is crucial.

In conclusion, Que Pasa Restaurant has potential, and I genuinely hope that the management addresses the staffing issue to enhance the overall dining experience. The good manners of the staff are commendable, but efficiency is equally important in creating a memorable dining outing. With improvements in this area, I believe the restaurant has the capability to offer a truly exceptional experience to its patrons. My rating stands at four stars, as there were some positive aspects, but the slow service did hinder the overall enjoyment of...
