This mini market at Aruba Airport was an absolute lifesaver during our long wait in the customs line. With a two-hour wait outside in the heat, having access to cold drinks, snacks, and entertainment for the kids made all the difference. The convenience of having this mini market right along the line was incredible.
They had everything needed to cool off, from ice-cold water and refreshing drinks to snacks that helped keep everyone going. The selection was great, with something for both kids and adults. They also had small toys, games, souvenirs, activity books, and popsicles, which made a huge difference in keeping the kids entertained. Waiting in a long line can be tough, but having distractions like these made the time pass much more smoothly.
One of the best parts was that the mini market had air conditioning, offering a much-needed reprieve from the heat, even if only for a moment. Stepping inside, even briefly, provided a small break from the sun and made the wait just a little more bearable.
The prices were fair, especially considering the convenience of having everything right there when we needed it most. After a long flight and an unexpected wait, this little shop provided exactly the right mix of items to keep everyone as comfortable as possible.
The staff was friendly and efficient, helping people quickly so they could get back in line without any hassle. It was clear they understood the needs of travelers, offering exactly what was needed in a tough situation. Definitely grateful this...
Read moreMy wife and I have shopped a few times, mostly because the location is easy walking distance from the marina. The aisles are crowded, but it's understandable since their space is small. The produce and cheese are not great, and they are often out of some items. The service is not overly friendly. A couple of times the cashier was more intent on watching for shoplifters than taking care of people trying to pay. The have beer, wine, and liquor, mostly in a closed off area behind the cashier. Customers are allowed in the liquor area before checkout. Probably not the best store on the island if you have a car, but we will likely shop there again.
Update after two weeks: The store overcharges it's customers. I wondered why they would not give itemized receipts, now I know. We had thought the last few purchases were high, and we kept an eye out today. Based on the tags they put on the products, we came to the counter with 174.50 AWG of stuff (we checked later). The female cashier rang 189 AWG (florín). She said $108 USD, then charged our card for over $118. I asked why. She said 6% charge for credit cards. I did the math right in front of her to show 6% coming out closer to $114 USD. She said her manager told her to do it "this way." If you want to support scam artists, please frequent this establishment. Apparently the manager trains his employees to steal...
Read moreEveryone is saying what great prices this place has, but maybe they just upcharge the tourist things, like the small bottle of spray sunscreen for $22. And when I say I want to pay in the Aruban currency on my card, it can’t be done and the conversion is terrible (should have been about $19 converted...
