Café Steijn — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Nice location against Heemraadssingel but the service is just very poor. They firstly forgot my order (in an almost empty bar) which isn’t a big deal, but then owner later ignored me while I tried to pay, to firstly clean around the bar instead, and then to let another person she knew go ahead of me despite seeing I was there first. Rather than acknowledge it (she knew it already anyway) she went on to helpfully explain that in Netherlands it’s a rule to let women pay first, not whoever is waiting to pay first ... ok 🤷🏼‍♂️😂 It seems to be similar hostile behavior other reviewers below found. On the upside the resident pet dog is super friendly (I hope he doesn’t have to wait too long for his owner to feed him, but if he does I’m sure he’ll get an excellent explanation as to the natural prioritization of cats above dogs). The worst male employees ever! They are not very helpful and they really do not give any coins about what you think about the biz. Its so weird that girls working there is very understanding but not the guys.. If you REALLY want to have the worst service ever, come hier.

Cafe (bar) at a corner of two streets. Has a terras in front of the cafe but this is not a great place to sit in view of the many cars passing by. On the other side of the road before the mood they have an extended terras. Lesser quality tables and chairs, also quite a bit of annimals. Service of coffee and drink was rather slow.
