GoChu — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Everything was absolutely delightful! Firstly I wpuld like to start with the fact that they have vegetarian options and everything is Halal here. They do not serve pork here. We have been to multiple korean restaurants before, but this was the best Tteokbokki we ever had. By far! We asked for extra spicy, and they served! It was amazing, honestly! The snack platter was a great fusion of korean and dutch. I really liked how big the portion was. It was just right. I have never had Gimmari before, I would really recommend it. It was also in the snack platter, so that one is a must-order. My virgin passionfruit mojito was also great. They could have used less syrup as it was just a bit too sweet. But the taste was good so I didn't mind. We are outside, but the inside also looks great! The employee asked if she should turn on the heatlamp for us. They really thought of everything here. Another example is the ladies' room. They have space to change diapers, and there is an Ikea Tossig available for small kids so they can use a regular toilet. Amazing! Poor service in my opinion. I live far away and on the website they say they don’t take reservations. So i tried to call for if it was busy or not and for more info but no reaction ( directly to voicemail) i whent anyways cause i was truly excited for the food. (They ended up having a place outside) But was let down by the service and the food aswell, we got helped by a waiter who we had to call to take our order after waiting for 30 min. Also when we got the food they just put it down and walked away without saying anything.Then we got to the food and it was lukewarm. Almost as if it wasn’t prepared fresh. when we whent to pay for our food we basically just got the receipt in our hands and the price on the pin. We payed and i said have a nice day and just got ignored. So in my opinion it’s not worth your money and i think that there are way better options in Rotterdam.

My tips for the owner are to get better staff who have more passion for the work. And to check food temperatures cause it is unacceptable to serve...

This was a very cute place in Rotterdam Noord, we sat outside on the roomy terrace but I had a short glance inside and it looked really cozy and modern though also quite small. It's clear to see that the majority of the staff is quite inexperienced but they were quite friendly otherwise so I think it will definitely improve in the future. Regarding the food I have to admit I had higher expectations. The corndogs were alright, but the bulgogi cheddar fries were a bit disappointing. The balance between the cheddar and the rest was way off, there was so much cheddar and relatively a little amount of bulgogi and fries. Especially seeing their price. The boba soft serve was good, though maybe a little too much caramel sauce to my taste. I'm hoping they will improve with time and perhaps when they can expand their menu, because I do see a lot...
