Palace House — Restaurant in Rotterdam

This is a nice place to eat. I went there for the breakfast buffet and there are many positive points but also points for improvement.

Food: The most enjoyable and rich breakfast buffet I have been at in Zuid Holland so far. From cheese croissants to chicken wings. Yes, you read it right, chicken wings. Tha flavors were great, and the desserts that included unlimited ice cream in banana, mango, pistachio, and vanilla flavors were priceless. You could also order from the menu with no extra charges: waffles, mint tea, cheese burgers and much more.

Service: The service was not all bad. The food ordered via the menu came quickly and the personnel were friendly. So here comes the bad part. We were there with young kids and felt that the place assigned to us was not suitable and requested to sit at another place and there was no flexibility or even an attempt to be flexible. We pointed to a place as an alternative and were told “no, there is a big group coming to sit there”. Later we saw a family about the same size as ours given the same place we had wanted. The waitress even went out of her way to move around tables to accommodate them. Remember, when it was us there was zero flexibility. Honestly, it felt like favorism as this family was from the same ethnic background as the owners.

Atmosphere: We found out about this restaurant on Tik Tok. It looked more modern, bigger, and neater on the phone screen. Everyone was tightly packed as sardines but it was doable.

I don't know if most of you who are giving 5 stars never been in a good buffet style restaurant before,because it's certainly not worth 5 stars. Food selection is just minimum, and most of the food is your typical dutch snacks you can get anywhere else. Basically you're paying almost 40eur just to eat snacks and if there is other food choices like chicken or fish they taste like paper,no seasoning, nothing.
