Where to begin... We have been to the other TEDS location in Rotterdam a few times and have enjoyed it in the past. But the meal we had here today was beyond disappointing!
We were a table of 6 and had made a reservation online. The table they put us at was comically sized. The chairs were so low down, and the table so high up that our shoulders were basically at the same level as the table. It made eating our food ridiculously funny but also very, very inconvenient. Furthermore, we were placed next to a leaking AC unit which had also soaked through the carpet the table was on... Causing our shoes and bags to get wet.
Ultimately, the service was very poor. I understand they are understaffed but wow, it was terrible. We did not get one of our dishes at all despite asking for it twice... and they still tried to charge us for it. One of the dishes came missing an ingredient and was sent back to the kitchen. When it arrived, over 15 minutes later with the added ingredient, the rest of the dish was cold and soggy. The other food we got was okay, but nothing special at all.
Unfortunately, we will not be returning here again and it may be some time before we are interested in giving the other locations...
Read moreUnfortunately not a great experience. Food was fine - not great but nothing particularly negative. We only got to eat it cold though, which definitely didn’t help ;) The service was bad. Everything took forever. Our coffee order took 20 minutes and food took twice that. When food came it was only one of the two main dishes we had ordered. After another ~20 minutes of waiting I asked the waitress to check whether they forgot the rest of our order. She did not come back to us (because honestly if she had asked, at that point nearly an hour later probably we would have said forget about it) and after a while we received the rest of our order. The main reason we wanted to eat here was to use a gift card some friends gave us. Before sitting and ordering, I asked whether it was possible to use it and the staff told me I only needed to show it when paying. To complete a series of unfortunate brunching events, apparently because they are a new location they specifically can’t accept this gift card (bought a week ago).
All in all disappointing. I understand that the staff is overwhelmed, probably just more staff for a busy location like...
Read moreI’ll start this review by saying that the food was absolutely delicious, and that's the only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars.
The service, however, needs major improvements. I have never witnessed such poor service. We waited around 10-15 minutes for someone to take our order. Then, after another 20 minutes, the waitress who seated us came back to get our order. What a mess! We then waited another hour to get our food. This is unacceptable! The table next to us simply left due to the terrible service.
The restaurant wasn’t even full, yet they were struggling to get orders out. The chefs were constantly in and out of the kitchen, running downstairs. Meanwhile, waitress was just walking around, not being helpful at all or picking up customers' orders. People were constantly having issues with their food, bringing it downstairs themselves, or watching waitresses run up and down with full plates.
If you want good food and don’t mind waiting an hour while dealing with terrible service, it might be worth a visit. However, if you respect your time, stay away from this location. The other Teds in Rotterdam is much...
