Ginger Sushi — Restaurant in Saint Martin

Its cheap is about the best I can say about this place. A Japonese style sushi restaurant run by Chinese staff. Something simular to but not quite like the original. Have to say I couldnt care if the crew were Norwegian as long as the food is good. It wasnt.

I ordered shrimp tempura and got breaded shrimp with some kind of gooey sugary thick sauce. Not the thin tangy tempura sauce one would typically expect.

My wife ordered curry samosas which turned out to be some curry mix in wonton pasty. Typical fare at at our local Chinese takeaway restaurant. Not that we minded but if youre going to pretend to be a Japonese restaurant then at least try to prepare the food using a japenese style.

The specialty roll menu was an exact copy of about 3 other local sushi restaurants. Mango Cream Cheese and Salmon and of course, avocado being the predominant ingredients.

We ordered a couple of rolls sans avacado. They arrived without the avocado as requested but were warm and not very tasty. In fact, the predominant flavour was just half melted cream cheese. Apparently the rolls wre put together with warm rice according to our wautress because we ordered appetizers first.

Were were very underwhelmed after hearing many good things about this place from several friends and acquaitences.

We wont be going back.

Yet another Dutch side restaurant just dialling it in. Near enough is good enough apparently.

Most affordable sushi place on sint maarten. And they are rlly tasty and good. Worth the money. U qont be spending 100 bucks... dinner this evening were 2 full special rolls plus a basic. 2 cocktails. And service charge. 64 bucks. All worth it And always delicious. Def the TOP place for AFFORDABLE sushi on sint maarten. U can leave and still pay ur rent. One little thing tho....I prefer have the small bowls. They seem to be cheap.on their soy sauce. ...and that's the one thing I love most abt sushi. Wasabi...

Ginger Sushi restaurant is a local favorite, you will never find the place empty. Young and old frequent this spot. Their food is always fresh and the prices are affordable. $$. My personal favorite is the ANGRY DRAGON roll. My family and I have been more then 5 times, and the only thing one could say is that sometimes they don't understand your requests very well.... like "please bring the appetizers and main course all at once....." but other then that its a must try and yes i will go back...
