I love croissants, so i was excited to try this place. The pastries all looked pretty good. I got a ham and cheese croissant, and a regular one. The heated up the ham and cheese croissant in the microwave...... which destroys any crunch to any bread. Still tasted fine. The regular croissant was not good at all and tasted more like a Pillsbury croissant. Im not entirely sure how they make them, if they substitute crisco/lard for butter, or if the, bUtter they use is low quality with high water content. French/european butter should be atleast 82% fat if not more.
These croissants were tough and hard to pull apart almost like regular bread.
It wasnt even worth finishing. I hate to be negative, but it was one of the worst croissants ive had. The worst one was the ones i tried to make at home, so its not all the way at the bottom, mines worse. I would advise them to adjust the recipe or process a bit. Not sure if its too warm when laminating and the butter is just melting too fast and creating too much gluten...
Read moreMan, oh man. This is one place I would like to be able to put in my pocket and take with me EVERYWHERE. Perfect, - and I do mean PERFECT French pastry. AND THAT’S NOT ALL!!!!!!!! Everything they have here is BEYOND five star!!!!! I had a Ham & Cheese with a bechemel sauce. It was called a “Croque Monsieur”. My God. I didn’t know that this was even POSSIBLE. I didn’t want eating this thing TO END! That’s how good it tasted. My wife had a mushroom quiche. She gave me a bite. I think that was the moment that I just wanted to go in and order one of EVERYTHING THAT THEY OFFERED. I think by now, you understand. If you miss this experience while in Sint Maarten, you may never go back. If you are fortunate enough to be blessed with dining at this establishment, you will surely want to return to the island, for this, if...
Read moreI think the reviews are highly overrated. Probably given just for the scenic seating area in the rear of the establishment. We purchased the following: 2 pieces of bread pudding, brownie, apple crumble, chocolate croissant, and plain croissant. The items we had were underwhelming as another reviewer stated. They were not bad, but you should definitely not travel across the island to get these. They are less sweet than other places which can be a good thing. The problem is the flavor to substance ratio was way off. It’s a perfect spot to load up on fresh stuff to put in the fridge for the mornings instead of paying the higher prices at your hotel for a...
