Nowhere Special — Restaurant in Saint Martin

The food was good, lobster Jalapeno poppers were extra spicy, mahi burgers were tender and tasty. I recommend visiting during later hours for the music! That would be it, except we are just upset with our server. We came during an off-hour and our server acted like she did not want to be there. She never smiled, never said hello. She took our order, brought our drinks, and food. She asked if we need anything else, but immediately walked away before I could ask for another drink, so I shared my wife's water instead. She leaned on the counter and played on her phone for 40 minutes. After 20 minutes of chatting and waiting, we went to the bar to pay our bill, and she left us standing there for another 5 minutes, then printed our bill, then walked away to clean our table, 5 minutes later she took my card.. so it was a 15 minute process just to pay a simple food bill. There was only one other couple in the restaurant when we left. The only thing about being forced to pay 18% gratuity is that the servers can do whatever they want, she still got her $11 tip to visit our table twice when we were the only customers for a long period. If I had the option, she only gets $5. One dollar for each trip to the table. You don't get extra without service, without a smile, without going above and beyond for the customer. I teach that to my employees and they receive thank you notes from customers. None of us want to be at work, we all have better things to do. But we have to work to buy things.. so we might as well make the best of it and make...

We had the pleasure of having Yolene as our waitress. She was fantastic, funny, and wonderfully personable. We visited during their Lobster Mania event which features free lobster fritters and special deals on lobster menu items. It's important to note that it's necessary get to the restaurant relatively early before they run out of the fritters.

The food was the best we've had on the island. I ordered the lobster champagne which featured a generous amount of lobster with mushrooms, shallots, and some nice broth in the bowl. It was an unbelievably delicious, memorable dish. On the side, I ordered the scalloped potatoes. They were quite possibly the best scalloped potatoes I've ever eaten.

My dad ordered the mushroom chicken and a side of scalloped potatoes. I tried and and found that his meal was amazing as well. The mushroom chicken is a magnificently tasty dish that I must recommend.

Again, thanks to Yolene, the service was quick and very much enjoyable. We were paid a visit by one of the owners, Al, who was an extremely kind person with an interesting story. Absolutely horrible service from our waiter, Prince. From the moment we sat down, there were no greetings or customer service pleasantries — just cold and dismissive behavior.

We weren’t informed about a 2-for-1 drink special that ended at 7pm. One person in our group ordered their drink at 7:05, unaware of the cutoff, and we were only told after the fact that the deal had ended. That’s frustrating, especially when the server didn’t take a moment to communicate any of this upfront.

To make matters worse, our waiter disappeared for over half an hour with no explanation. A busboy was left to cover, but every time we asked a question, he’d say, “You have to ask your waiter.” When we requested to speak with Prince, the busboy said, “Oh, he had to leave.” No follow-up, no accountability, and no attempt to make things right.
