I have been to St Marteen many times but on this trip i ate outside the resort being that i wanted to try muliple restaurants. This specific restaurant was one i wanted to try. It was recommend by alot of locals being that i was asking for local dishes. I will start with the (Service). When i got there it was 2 hours after they opened which was for lunch. They had a good amount of tables and there was only one server which was not a good look because i knew I wasnt going to get the service i was looking for. The server never came to check on us or asked us if we need a second round of drinks. I also had to get up to get my own plates from the BBQ hut not to mention I asked for pepper sauce 3 different times. Being that it was busy I was being understanding. (Food&Cuisine) I didnt get to try the dish i went for which was (Ox Tail /Peas&Rice). They didnt have it that day but i did order many other dishes to try. (Jerk Wings) I had the jerk wings which were amazing and very flavorful you can taste the seasoning as your chewing. (Jerk Chicken) I also ordered the jerk chicken which was great as well it had a nice smokey BBQ flavor to it. It's a must try if you go here for the first time. (Garlic Shrimp) To me the garlic shrimp could have been a little bigger in size for the price that it is but no complaints on the flavor. The texture was perfect and the shrimp wasn't over cooked like most places do. (Goat Curry) Last but not least my favorite dish was the Goat Curry absolutely amazing, the flavor, taste, temperature of the meat was perfect. Being that I am Guyanese it's always a pleasure to taste different styles of curries. (Atmosphere) To keep it very simple and to get an image in your head it's a BBQ hut wooden tables and chairs, comfortable for two people or a group of five and more. The scenery is on a main street with other restaurants around you. If you are looking for that Caribbean outdoor vibe this is the place to eat. Next time I visit here will be in the night to check out the nightlife scene.

My reviews are based on honesty, and my taste buds keep in mind that everyone's taste buds are different, but let me ask you, this would it hurt to give the venue a...

My husband and I were recommended to go here during our honeymoon and the service here is not good. First time we came for takeout, stood at the hostess stand for 30 minutes before we even ordered and then waited another 20 minutes. We gave them a pass because it was a busy night. Second time we came to sit down. After we stood at the hostess stand for 5 minutes, a server told us to sit at a table. We then proceeded to wait 40 minutes, no menu, nobody checking in, even though we were seated at a table right near the front. Once we saw people that came in after us getting served, I had to flag a waitress down because we for sure were looked over/forgotten. The waitress told us that she didn’t know we needed service because we sat ourselves, although she was the one that told us where to sit. We told her that we had already looked up the menu and that we were ready to order, but then she left our table. We sat for 10 more minutes while she went to clean tables and took to-go orders. That is when we decided to leave. Overall very disappointing because we actually like the food there, that’s the only reason I’m giving the second star. But getting such poor service and getting lectured over someone else’s mistake while the restaurant was fairly empty is not acceptable. As someone who is of island descent, I can understand that island people move at a slower pace, but this was not that. To make a long story short, the best time to come is when you’re full, you’ll be hungry by time you get your food (if they...

The experience was horrible, if I could give 0 stars I would. Arrived and got seated ordered our food knowing exactly what we wanted to have. We then proceeded to wait 1hr for the appetizer and had to ask the waitress about our food. Yes it was a bit busy in the beginning but she made no effort to come over and reassure us that our food was coming or of the issues the kitchen was having. After 1hr and 20mins we asked how long it would take to receive our dinner, to which we were told they had to make more rice and that it would be coming shortly. Upon receiving our food it was cold and the rice was not fully cooked. A huge disappointment after waiting so long. We got the waitresses attention and spoke to her that the rice was not fully cooked and that the food was cold. She did nothing about it and walked away. She then proceeded to ignore us which was shocking. We ended up speaking to another waitress there and explained the issue. By now I’m aggravated and hungry I asked for a box to go and not be charged for the food since service was horrible, and I was then going to go back to the Airbnb and heat up the food myself. This waitress said that was not possible, I asked to speak to the manager. I was told he was not there. 20mins later a man saying he was the manager came over and we spoke. The manager was rude and was willing to take my plate off the check but I was not allowed a to go box. We left disappointed and...

I always feel the small business/hidden gems serve the best food! Everything I ordered was tasteful. But the mac & cheese & the coleslaw 1000000/10! Service was fast & all staff were friendly.

If I had to describe this place in one word I would choose…chaos. We came at 6:30pm on a Tuesday night for dinner and got seated right away. Although we had a table right away we didn’t receive service until almost 10 minutes before happy hour ended so 6:50pm or 20 minutes after being sat. We then ordered the waitress was very distracted. We ordered one drink (rum punch) and then the shrimp and ribs combo with mac and cheese and rice and peas. The food took another 20 minutes to come out and was cold. The mac and cheese was just ok, would of been better hot as cold cheese isn’t great, the shrimp was delicious and the only warm thing on the plate, the ribs weren’t very tender and dry and the rice and peas was good. I didn’t like the rum punch and only had a few sips. As we sat we saw a long line of people waiting to be sat. There is no waitlist or organization. We saw people come from the end of the line and just sit down at any open table. Needless to say no one ever came back and checked on us. No music played while we were there. Ribs and shrimp + one rum punch with the service charge was $37.95 usd. We had to ask another staff member for the bill and then when she brought it she asked us to hurry up and pay because there was a long line of people waiting. Overall it was just ok but nowhere I would revisit.
