Restaurant 141 — Restaurant in Steenwijkerland

Enjoyed a late lunch at the wonderful terrace. I picked this place as it is slightly further away and it came accross as more relaxing and quieter.

The salad with goat cheese, honey draped walnuts and bread tasted superb too. They even cater for Asian taste with rendang and satay. The home-made apple pie was not only delicious but also very generous. On top of that the staff is very friendlly and service minded without being pushy. Highly recommend Restaurant de Sloothaak.

The food here is phenomenal!! I have been impressed by the food here is the Netherlands, but this one certainly exceeds my expectations. I definitely recommend their 3 course meal for two (you can share for 3 if you are not super hungry). Their starter salads with either fish or beet are both so good.

Note, if you have dinner here (and you really enjoy it as we did), you may miss your last bus back to the train station. Luckily for us, a Chinese guy from a nearby restaurant showed up and provided a taxi service to the airport. We were happy to use...

Wat een fijn restaurant! We verbleven een lang weekeinde in Giethoorn en zochten een leuke plek voor een verjaardagsetentje. We zijn met een familie van vegetarische, veganistische en vlees-eters. En we werden allemaal blij van Restaurant 141. De bediening is heel sympathiek en meedenkend. Bij het broodje vooraf kregen we spontaan hele lekkere veganistische kruidenboter. Als hoofdgerechten hadden we de dry aged beetroot maaltijdsalade, vegetarische shoarma, spareribs, zalm-maaltijdsalade en tempeh van bonen in teryakisaus. Allemaal met lokale seizoensproducten bereid en allemaal heerlijk. Qua veganistische hoofdgerechten dus keus uit 3 en dat is behoorlijk bijzonder in een niet-veganistisch restaurant. Mijn dochter vond in elk geval dat ze nog nooit zulke goede service had gekregen in een "gewoon" restaurant. We dronken hierbij de huisrosé die echt goed was.

De desserts en met name de Grand desserts waren super, kijk maar op de foto's. No-bake rabarber cheesecake met aardbeien bijvoorbeeld en brownie cheesecake met witte chocola.

Dus als je in Giethoorn bent en je wilt geen standaard toeristenmenu eten maar echt lekkere en met zorg bereide gerechten, ga dan hierheen. Het is ook nog 'ns een heel fijn en rustig terras...
