Pollo — Restaurant in Texel

Pollo De Koog a restaurant specialized in chicken cuisine in the island of Texel. We have tried Pollo's fried chicken, Pollo's huiskruiden, Thaise gele (yellow) curry, Pimientos de Pardon, Pollo's kip burger with Texel beer. Everything was super lekker. The tastiest chicken we have ate in the entire Netherlands. If you are in Texel you must eat here. Without eating at Pollo's Texel visit will be incomplete. Staff is very polite, friendly and supper helpful. Our score is 10 out 10 and 5 stars. Will come again. Thanks Team Pollo for lekker food and your hospitality. Very slow service have been waiting an hour for a starter and haven't received it yet. Server keeps inviting more and more people into the restaurant yet not mentioning waiting times. Restaurant is full of empty tables. Partners beer has been empty for 20 minutes yet no refill.

We left after waiting over an hour. The guy in charge told us we had only been waiting 38 minutes for out starters. I don't really think 38 minutes is acceptable for waiting for a starter. At 8.20 we left and the guy in charge wouldn't take our money, and didn't understand out problem yet the whole restaurant were waiting for their food. First time walking out a restaurant. Just lovely When visiting Texel with my family I was looking for a few nice restaurants to eat. The options on Texel may be plenty in numbers but not necessarily in variety. That’s why, when we found a place dedicated to chicken, we decided we have to give it a try.

First of all, the place is really nice and cosy. We were greeted by a friendly waiter and ordered quickly. We had half a chicken - eastern style, a couple of chicken burgers and a chicken saté. On the side we had some fries and coleslaw. Everything was truly delicious. The chicken used for the sate was super tender, the burgers were great and the eastern style chicken a big success. Even the fries were beautifully spiced. We ended the meal with some delicious crème brûlée.
