Arte Bianca — Restaurant in The Hague

The good thing is that the pizzas are really amazing, no doubt. However, I still struggled to enjoy my evening for various other reasons. First of all, the service is terribly slow and inattentive. From when we sat down, it took them over 20 mins to bring us the menus and then we were ignored for another 20 mins until we could finally place an order. We eventually got the pizzas around 1h30min after sitting down and the restaurant was only half full. We felt very much ignored the whole time there, the waiters would never come to us unless I waived at them from far away. But the most uncomfortable part was the noise inside the restaurant. This place has terrible acoustics, which means that everything echoes so loud inside that I struggled to understand the person sitting next to me. To make it worse, they play loud electronic dance music in the background, and we asked them if they could lower the music, but they said that they're used to this music and would rather not change it. I think they need to add some furniture to the restaurant, some cushions, something that reduces the echo inside. It felt like sitting in a disco rather than a restaurant and struggling to understand the people at my table really made me feel...

31/05/2025 We were seated promptly and the order was taken swiftly as well, however, the two pizzas were nowhere to be seen one hour later. We thought they might have had a lot of takeout orders to fulfil, but when we inquired about it, they told us that our order somehow did not make it into the system (the drinks did, just not the food).

It was not a busy evening, our table was right beside the bar, but the staff didn’t find it suspicious that our table was empty for an hour? We came in at around 19:15 and only had the food at 20:30. They did apologise for it and offered another round of free drinks. We each took a small bottle of water, one still and one sparkling, but the waiter mixed up that too. We didn’t want to take the free limoncello either because we don’t drink alcohol, but then no other alternative compensation was offered.

This was the second time I visited—first time was when they first opened. The pizza back then had a tomato sauce that so extremely watery that it dripped off the crust. I thought they might have improved on that, which they did, but the service was another major slip up that now I completely lost faith...

As an Italian, it's incredibly hard to find a place abroad where you can truly taste real Italian food, until you step into Arte Bianca. What a gem! The pizza here is absolutely incredible: the same authentic taste, the perfect structure, the flavors that instantly transport you straight back to Italy. Every bite feels like home. The place itself is small and cozy. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is kind and attentive. Carlo, one of the owners, is an adorable and kind person who makes you feel welcomed and at ease. And the sweet touch is the adorable little cat mascot that adds even more personality to this special spot.
