Burrata Kortenaerkade — Restaurant in The Hague

We came for drinks and snacks with no reservation. We got sit by the bar on a hight table. The atmosphere was calm and quiet, nice to have a cocktail and a chat, you can see that they take it easy with making your order. It didn’t look like they rush at all. We order a bittergarnituur on a side but it really disappointed us. They try to make it look like a fancy bittergarnituur because they make “Italian” snacks but both my partner and I felt, (“okay, my body is rejecting this, if I keep eating it, I will vomit ”). we didn’t finished. It was not nice, and very pricey for what you get. But the Disarono Sour was very nice. And the bar/restaurant look it self looks amazing. Very dreamy and beautiful. Pretentious Italian restaurant that boasted its looks and designs but did not invest in training its waiters. Before I explain why, first a thumb up for the really good pizza (congrats to Matteo, this passionate pizza guy is a golden card for Burrata). Focaccia as well not bad. So why only two stars? Waiters are not suited, they are disconnected, headless towards the food and drinks they serve. For example, our waiter can't explain the menu offerings (felt like a kid trying to mimic a 'ciabatta' but not really aware of what it is.. a bread? A pizza? A sandwich? A cake?). Or they served us the starters and the main dish at the same time. So we had to put the starter aside (it would not fit on our small table) and we could not eat it. Excited to dine here as it recently opened. Interior design is great with artsy installments and layout. Upon entering we needed to wait for a table even though there were some free. After chasing the service we got a table after 15+ minutes, eventually got seated at the table that was free in the first place. Staff forgot drink orders, and was chaotic. It seems the place is still trying to find it's groove after recently opening up. You would think that the first couple of weeks they would be trying hard to give a good first impression but it was chaotic. The pizza was good, nice thin crust and modest toppings.
