First dinner this year and one of our worst dining experiences ever! Extremely long wait times not just at our table. We also had to go and get the wine menu card ourselves which is also caused by having several waiters shortly stopping at your table. Friend requested to skip onions etc in his salad due to allergies! Salad was served with exactly these ingredients risking his health! No apologies - Nothing! Instead of main course as requested, the salad was also served as starter PLUS without any dressing - not even oil and vinegar was offered nor any bread. Such a bad, poor and ignorant service! Not once was asked if we would like more wine or if we would like to have anything else and the empty plates rested in front of us forever. As a host you usually offer desert or coffee etc as a host. Not here! They obviously don’t welcome you at all, behave rude, not even apologizing for all the mistakes that happened. It sure was our first and last visit to this restaurant and we recommend not to go! Unless you are actually looking for a real poor dining experience. Food (pizza and gnocchi) was ok but not more and who would eat a salad without any vinaigrette or simply oil and...
Read moreMy partner had visited once before and thought it was ok, but found the food a bit salty. She thought they might be having an off night but wanted to give them another shot, so we went together this time, bit ended up being disappointed in a couple of respects. We chose the ossobuco Alla Milanese and the cannelloni Al forno. First, the food was very over-salted, to the point where both of us left half our meals unfinished. Second, the place wasn't particularly busy, so various staff members kept nipping outside for a nicotine break. This is fine, except that we were seated near the door, and when they came back in, out table was swathed in smoke. Finally, there were two tables that were obviously enjoying themselves, but the noise was deafening, which really killed the atmosphere. At least the washrooms and cutlery were clean. We won't be back, and we don't blame the staff for the raucous tables, but both the food quality and smokey air is entirely under their control. We hope others...
Read moreFood is ok: some dishes are good, some are just ok. Service: it is a quite long time to wait till you get your dish and eventually they may not bring you everything you've ordered. Just make sure to ask them to remove it from the final bill later. Staff: not too professional, some are even rude and may start teaching you how to live and what to do. Authenticity: speaking Italian in an Italian restaurant seems to be prohibited. I was told I have to learn Dutch. So the only resemblance of "la Lingua" here you'll see on the menu, as titles of the plates, as well as a phrase " Arrivederci e grazie" in the bill, not more 😂 Honestly, there are better Italian restaurants in The Hague, than this, in terms of making sure it is "made by Italians, served by Italians" as well as getting the famous Italian hospitality. P.S. people go to Italian restaurants not just to eat pasta or pizza, they go there for an experience, and this is what is missing...
