Strandtent Solbeach Scheveningen — Attraction in The Hague

This is a great place for a BBQ and for the experience.

This is a dog friendly place, with good food and a great experience! We ordered the meat BBQ package for 4 people, you have one BBQ pan between you with a mix of extras and meats. The meat was very good fast and cuts.

The service was not the best, I reserved a table and I did ask for certain seats, we were with a dog that loves to be out but does have some anxiety in busy places so I asked to reserve a spot on a sofa area, so she could sit with us.

When arriving no one would help us, we were waiting somewhere where it was not clear, we asked 4 people and it was so chaotic that no one listened to us, we had to keep following people to get attention as we did not know what to do. When saying we reserved, we got asked to sit anywhere, there was one space left on a busy strip which was not a good spot for us.. when asking if I could take a table we were told that it was reserved, but yet we also reserved ..

It took a long time to order and a long time to get the drinks, when we did, a beer glass was chipped but it was replaced straight away.

The food itself is very very good, worth the money, the experience of the BBQ with family or friends is recommend and would do again, the service for this was both ways, to start we were asked 3 different times if we wanted to eat, 4 occasions we have already mentioned that we booked the BBQ and took a long time to have this arranged.

Borris came to the rescue and made out night so much better, what a brilliant server he is, making sure we were okay, if we needed anymore, great chats with him, 5 stars to him personally as he is a great server!

Scheveningen beach location, so no need to say anything about location. may be one thing though this place is better situated compared to beach bars closer to the pier. this one is ~500 meters further down from Krauhaus, hence beach in front is not super crowded, a nice vibe.

food is good, we tried mussels, chicken sate, and vega burger, all 3 dishes were good. normal prices are 1820 Euros, but we had 3 social deal vouchers for 10 euro each.

apart from social deal, we had some drinks. wickse witte was served in Heineken glass! thats never good. then I had affligem blonde in original glass. cocktail capiosoda was ok~ish.

services, in general was nice. everyone served with smile and friendly attitude, but I did not like that after rounds of beer I was still asked to pay for lounge sofa, see photo? when I said I was not informed at the begining that I have to pah for lounge sofa separately (they asked 17.50 euros), they didn't charge me eventually. but nonetheless I found it strange that at a beach side bar I have to pay for sofa lounge, bit crazy in my opinion and I count it as bad service as there were no notice thag sofa is to be charged separately and no one informed...

Great for everyone! Families, couples, friends. Decent food, sunsets included. If you live in The Hague, you know that food at the seaside restaurants and cafes is hit or miss, specially during occasional but overcrowded sunny days. Solbeach BBQ won’t disappoint you. Do you need a place to chill and have a meal while your kids are playing within eyesight? This is the place, specially for the little ones. They got tables in front of a sandy playground so you can relax and eat while the kids play and annoy other kids. Do you need a more discreet and quiet corner to enjoy a romantic evening by the beach? They got it, just move inside order a drink and won’t even notice the kids. They also have lots of tables by the beach that can cope with large groups, ideal for outings.

I recommend the BBQ, ok, you have to grill your own portions but it is hard to get it wrong. Meats are good quality and tasty, (worth the price) and the service is quick.

If the weather becomes miserable as it is often the case, they even place glass panels so wind won’t bother you. I have to say this was a good surprise on all accounts. Will...
