Sherlock Pub & Restaurant — Restaurant in The Hague

I really want to like The Sherlock, unfortunately there are a 2 things holding back a 5 star rating. The first and foremost is the ambiance, the lights are too bright, the tables seem oddly placed and too high to relax for a good long session, maybe a mix of low and high tables in the main area would help. The menu is an 'interesting' a mix of Asian, Dutch and British, it's confusing. As far as I understand it's a British pub so maybe a few stalwarts like bangers and mash, pies and roast dinners on a Sunday along with a few crowd pleasing snacks like bitteballen, would be more appropriate.

A very nice and cozy English-style pub in The Hague. It has the typical ambience of an English pub with an artistic touch. It serves traditional pub dishes of very good quality, such as steak and kidney pie, fish and chips, chilli con carne etc. It offers a good variety of tap beers, although only one English ale (Old Speckled Hen). Once it had a new owner we were keen to try it out again. Nothing had changed except the wall colour and the menu. We desided to eat: fish and chips: fish was a good soze bit undercooked, . The sate was really good. My red wine was freezing cold so I send it back. I then ordered a chardonnay which tasted corked, so I changed it for a G&T and tasted the non cleaned lemon (so the pesticides) more than anything else. We were disappointed.
