From my Peruvian colleagues, this was one of the better Peruvian restaurants in the Netherlands. Got here right when it opened at 2 pm, no reservation needed and seated right away. Started off with a round of Pisco Sours. It ended up being much stronger than I expected but it was a nice surprise. I ordered the Seco de Cabrito which is a Lamb shank marinated in dark beer, stewed with vegetables, cilantro sauce and served with rice, white beans and sarsa criolla. I liked the flavor of the marinade and sauce of the dish but the portion was not really comparative to the price. More rice could have been added if you wanted to go to the cheap route. My friends ordered the Lomo Saltado (Pieces of stir-fry tenderloin strips sauteed with soy and oyster sauce, red onion, tomatoes served with french fries and white rice), Champinion Saltado (Champignons sauteed with soy and oyster sauce, red onions, tomatoes with french fries and white rice) and Mar y Tierra (Surf & turf, a combination of Lomo Saltado and the Camarón Saltado). The quality of the food was nice but just...
Read moreMy very first Peruvian restaurant.. Seemed very authentic to me as all of the staff seemed to be one Peruvian family that only spoke Spanish. Except the owner who had a decent command of English. I had "Well cooked rice with all sorts of seafood" which tasted good to very good. Also had a special Peruvian desert which was basically two combined puddings from milk rice and purple corn with lots of cinnamon and not sweet at all. The cabernet by glass was excellent. Also had a special Peruvian grappa which is called something else and the owner tried to explain how it was totally different, it tasted like grappa nevertheless 😉. We were a large group so the wait was too long for every course.. All in all it was a rather pleasant and very authentic experience. But I guess the Peruvian specials require some getting used to it. All other guests except our international group seemed Peruvian. It wasn't cheap but actually on the lower pricing average for a decent restaurant...
Read moreWe lived in the neighbourhood and often passed by to this place, always packed/ busy! So today, we decide to have dinner there, luckily we have the table! I’m craving for Ceviche, but my stomach is shouting for pork, so the pork win ! 😋🤭 I ordered pork the Chicharones de cerdo/ and it’s heel lekker! ❤️ LOVE IT! I even had some for take away! ✌️
By the way, the portion is big so you can bring them at home if you don’t finish it.
The STAFF/ They’re very friendly and attentive! 10 STARS 🌟 FOR THEM !!! You guys did a good job! 👍🏼
Anyhow, the main dishes, went down hill! Sad! My husband have the Seco de Cabrito ( Lamb Shank ) it’s tough, chewy and flavourless, normally lamb shank is falling off the bone and tender, but this one no. 👎 And I have Arroz con Mariscos, it says in the menu that it has spice flavourful, but mine is tasteless. Didn’t even get the...
