Café Banka — Restaurant in The Hague

Since the new manager, Michael Branth, has been at the helm, this renovated and stylish, characterful venue has been running like a train.

We have of course known Michael for years, including from Oker(Denneweg The Hague), and now here, at this A-1 location between the beach and the city center. Nice that we can still experience this in our lives.

The moment you enter this venue, you feel at home straight away. Michael and the connected chefs (Kevin Machiel) and friendly staff (like Andy) are positive, empathetic, thoughtful fumigated characters, showing genuine interest in all visiting guests and give them personal attention.

Atmosphere management and excellent gastronomic insight are in their blood. And the menu is not overly extensive, but clear & absolutely offers something for everyone. Very nice, distinguishing good food/dishes.

They do what they do very well here, and with love and heart for the business and for their guests.

Whether you want to sit high at the bar, or eat low or high, in the conservatory or on the south-facing terrace, enjoying the sun: at Café Banka they don't hesitate to treat their guest in a way they instantly feel at home.

They cheated on us on the prices, when we were leaving the place, no-one checked the receipt, but we took it to separate money next day, today we noticed for 1 IPA we paid 9.7 euro, the rest of the beers we took were teffle, on the receipt we had 3 different types of the beers with different prizes - Hertogen Jan, we did not drink, teffle - 68,7/7=9.8 euro per one beer, one of our friend was drinking small beers, all prices were counted for big one, which is incorrect, do not recommend the place!!!! Every price is incorrect according to the website, we are disappointed about services! Totally do...

Me, my wife, my daughter and my Mom sat at the corner table, outside in the garden. The waiter/barman approached us and told us that it’s time for the baby to go to bed. He spoke only in Dutch on purpose. It was only 7:45 pm. What an unpleasant situation to be forced out of the cafe this way. We only wanted to grab a quick drink before going to Albert Heijn.
