This is a good place to find a cold breakfast with a selection of tea and coffee. The service is fast and adequate.

I found the fact that you are just next to the bakery front counter made for more noise and constant movement. But if you like people watching, it is great. You can also watch people walking along the shopping street and catching the tram.

It is just down the street from shops and Jumbo, Kruidvat and Etos.

I ordered an ontbijt that included a slice of Bread, scrambled eggs, ham and cheese and butter and jelly and a croissant. The whole grain Bread was hearty and the croissant very flaky. I did not include the scrambled eggs with my order. I thought the topping for the yoghurt was very nice.

I took two appleflaps to go. I didn’t enjoy my appleflap as much and found the topping tasteless and resembling cardboard. The apple was just a slice of two with one raisin.

One thing I highly recommend is the bakery’s banana cake with walnuts and chocolate chips. Worth taking the tram up to the Statenkwartier...

So freches, unhöfliches und unmotiviertes Personal, wie wir es heute am 31.12.23 um 15.10h erlebt haben…..das geht garnicht. Wir haben um 15.15h einen Cappuccino und einen Ouielbollen außerdem das Angebot für € 5,95 bestellt. Die Dame sagte, dass der Kuchen aus dem Angebot nicht mehr vorrätig wäre. Daraufhin haben wir einen Kaffee und eine Nussschnitte bestellt. Sie betonte, dass das Café in 30 Minuten schließt. Nach 15 Minuten servierte man uns den Kaffee und Cappuccino und sagte, dass es keine Ouielbollen mehr gibt (zum Zeitpunkt der Bestellung waren noch um die 50 Stück in der Auslage und wie wir rausgingen lagen noch viele in der ersten Vitrine?!) und auch die Nussschnitte würde es nicht mehr geben (war auch noch in der ersten Vitrine, also wenn man reinkommt - vorne rechts ?!). Wir haben dann irritiert nachgefragt und sind dann aufgestanden und gegangen. Dann hat uns eine „Dame“ hinter dem Tresen (also nicht die Dame, die die Bestellung aufgenommen hat) hintergerufen oder gebrüllt wir sollten doch das Café verlassen (wir waren schon dabei…). Bis wir die Ausgangstür erreicht haben war es ihr nicht zu blöd uns alles mögliche hinterherzurufen. So etwas haben wir noch nie erlebt. Im übrigen nahm eine Dame am Nebentisch 5 Minuten nach uns Platz. Ihr hat man dann erklärt, dass Sie nicht mehr bedient wird. Daraufhin ist Sie ausgestanden und gegangen. Angegeben war eine Öffnungszeit bis 16h. Es war also noch 40 Minuten Zeit. Setzen Sie sich gerne mit uns in Verbindung. Wir beschreiben Ihnen gerne die Mitarbeiterin. Noch eine Anmerkung. Wir kommen seit Ihrer Eröffnung zu Ihnen und sind jedes Jahr 2-3 x für mehrere Tage in Scheveningen. Wir kommen zum Frühstück, zum Kaffeetrinken… und waren...

For us, this is one of the best bakers in The Hague, which puts more emphasis on taste and quality than on quantity and an overly large selection. The rolls are excellent and still fresh and warm in the morning. The bread is more wholesome and buying directly from the shop is definitely worth it (as opposed to buying from the same baker delivered to supermarkets, which are often less fresh or even baked again). There is a nice little café attached where you can also enjoy the many sweet baked goods...
