Wapen van Tilburg is conveniently located at the egde of the city centre. Tilburg’s central train station is just across the street. It’s perfect for (solo) travelers who just need a place to crash or friends that want to enjoy the night life of Tilburg, but also want a private room instead of a hostel. ||That’s the small gap this ‘hotel’ fills. Because it’s a hostel with private rooms. Expect the conditions you often find in a hostel: not so clean rooms, loud noises of other guests coming in late (often drunk), lots of noise from outside and a shared bathroom/shower that’s not always clean. My room was small, cold and not clean (the carpet was dirty and a lot of places were dusty). ||To anyone who expects a hotel experience: spend a little more and don’t book a room here. At +/- 75€ a night, this ‘hotel’ is a very expensive hostel. For 30€ more you can book a proper hotel room in Tilburg. ||This place is only for people who just need a place to crash and don’t mind the noise and people who want to enjoy the nightlife of Tilburg, want to have a private room and otherwise don’t mind the ‘hostel...

The building retains its Dutch characteristings, hence the rooms are small and slightly awkward but that’s the building. While bathrooms were shared they were clean, and the showers worked well. Staff were absolutely lovely, the manager who checked me in had A+ banter, and gave me lots of information about the city and what to go and do etc. While the mornings can be relatively noisy with people getting up and moving around, and the activity outside, that’s the nature of being on the center street of a city.
