Lunchcafé Nieuwland — Restaurant in Tilburg

We visited Lunchcafé Nieuwland on a cozy afternoon for a small break — just some coffee and a bite. The banana bread was delicious, the cappuccino was smooth, and the café itself has a good ambience.

However, our experience with the service left us disappointed. When I asked about juice options — specifically wondering if they had something like a ginger-apple-carrot smoothie — I was interrupted and told to take the English menu so I “wouldn’t have to explain it all.” That response felt unnecessarily dismissive.

Throughout our visit, we sensed a lack of warmth in the staff’s approach. It left us wondering — was it because we were English-speaking guests? We can’t say for sure, but we certainly did not feel welcome.

Other cafés we’ve visited in the area offer not just great coffee and food, but also a genuine sense of hospitality and inclusiveness. Sadly, that was missing here. Whether we’ll return? We’re not sure. A smile and a little kindness can make all...

If I could rate 0 stars, I would do that. While it is cozy place,I can't understand why so much pressure to the costumers. I was with my friend at that place literally 1hr and 15 mins and the waitress came at least 5 to 6 times to our table to ask if we need something extra. We bought 2 taarts and 2 coffees so I can't understand why you don't leave people to drink their coffees without going so many times to their table till they buy something more or apparently..they leave!We apparently left within 1 hr and 15mins because we were feeling that wouldn't really let us more a bit more time without coming to our table again. Cold, slimy eggs on bread rolls, ok-ish coffee and juice for two people: 48 euros. Too expensive and frankly unappetizing food. The atmosphere is ok if you want to grab a coffee and pastry. Avoid for breakfast/lunch; there are at least 3 better places within 100 meters of this place.

I see that the owner is "doubting" whether we actually visited them and ate at Nieuwland.
