One thing I can guaranty is that I will never sit here again or eat here again. And not because you have bad food or bad drink, it’s because of the service here. One time I came with my boyfriend and a couple that are our friends that come out of Spain and we had a waiter that instead of working would be talking to a table next to us a group of guy. I asked this guy waiter if he could check for me and my friend if the order we placed went through on the screen at the bar I asked this 30-45 minutes before and he said okay that ofcourse he’ll check and let us know. Well he didn’t instead after 30-45 minutes he comes again to talk to his friends at the table next to us and the guys were talking about us and saying that my boyfriend was smoking weed next to us which was not true he had a joint with his shag but as far as I know that is not illegal in NL so the waiter comes and tells us that we cannot smoke weed and at this point I’m pissed because we haven’t gotten an ashtray or haven’t been paid any attention of any of your waiter or anything all had to be asked because I am also a worker of hospitality and I know how service works so I in my free time also try to think with your workers to try and make their work easier. So I told your waiter that told my boyfriend to not smoke his weed at the table which he wasn’t doing, I told him that how is it possible that I asked him to check an order for me more than half an hour ago and had no response but he has the time to come to the table next to us to talk and gossip about me and my friends. That is unacceptable and it’s called discrimination and me and my friends are a paying customers, so value us a bit more and don’t waste our time. For this reason you will never find me sitting on your terrace ever again, I don’t support people who hire racists… treat everyone equal or just write on you bulletin board that you only accept dutchies on...
Read moreTaphuys has fallen. We used to visit quite frequently and always enjoyed their food and drinks menu. In fact, my first review for them was a glowing 5-star review, highlighting the unique dining experience and their innovative concept of letting customers tap their own beers from a wide selection of 40 options. I loved the comfort food, the variety of choices, and the fun atmosphere. But after today’s experience, I’m extremely disappointed, and I have no choice but to leave a 1-star review.
I ordered a portion of cauliflower steak and chicken saté. After waiting 35 minutes, the food finally arrived—but it was stone cold. The fries were warmer than the cauliflower steak, and the chicken saté was so overcooked that it was dry and rubbery. The decline in food quality and quantity over the years is glaring, and today’s meal felt like a shadow of what I used to love about Taphuys.
It’s disheartening to see how much has changed. The concept and the beer selection may still be great, but the food experience has gone downhill. What was once a 5-star favorite has now dropped to a mere 1 star due to the poor food quality and overall...
Read moreWe went for dinner on a wednesday night at 8:30pm and struggled to find a nice table for two people. It was loud and crowded. We sat at a nice table and were later moved because it was a big table; but it was empty the whole time we were there. We had 2 American Burgers and they were very good; the fries were also good. They have free water, which is nice. The beer on the tap is good. The service was terrible. We ordered "two american burgers; with no onions" and one of the burgers came with onions so we asked for a change. The lady was very rude and said that we asked only for one without onions. The second waitress was nice and polite; but there were only 2 people serving an entire restaurant. They are understaffed. Overall, the food and drink were great, the place is nice despite being a bit too loud- the...
