Benefits: The staff is generally helpful and friendly. It even seems as of they don’t take themselves or others too seriously which makes the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable. This could be a pitfall with some guests though The cinema itself is pretty massive. It feel a little bit like a maze, but it’s still pretty clear on where all the theaters are A large assortment of snacks and drinks A very good location and easy to find There is even a restaurant connected to the cinema The seats are great! I sometimes have awful back aches, but not from these chairs
Cons: The bathrooms are dirty. Even early in the day. Also, and this is actually quite unhygienic, the blow-dryers used to dry your hands have an awful stench indicating the little compartment on the bottom hasn’t been cleaned in ages. Bacteria are definitely having their go in there and every time someone uses it, they basically have to rewash their hands because the bacteria get blown back onto their hands Some of the staff seems to have trouble with their English which made communication a little more difficult, but we made it work. I think in a city such as Utrecht your English skills matter a lot more than in a small town or local cinema
We had a great experience at this establishment so I will definitely come back again. I do regret a little bit not informing the staff about the blow-dryers in the bathrooms, because those had such...
Read moreThis is an alright cinema. The venue itself is huge, so they have a very wide assorted of films on offer. The popcorn here is unfortunately not great. It is also not made fresh it seems, when you grab it at the shop it has been sitting out for a while already. Prices in this shop are ridiculous by the way, but that's the same in every movie theater these days. Ticket prices are also high, with 14,50 for a normal ticket on a Thursday night. Our movie got stuck somewhere in the first 10 minutes, so they rebooted the whole thing and we had to watch the beginning again. Not cool. Sound is good though. Overall perhaps because of its size the theater itself feels kind of bland and impersonal. It does have a great location with Utrecht Central Station within...
Read moreWe went to the new Mission Impossible showing in the 4DX theatre. Tickets 20€!!!
The guy at the cash counter asked if we wanted to buy 3D glasses - but we already brought our own.
4DX is movement, wind, smell, rain, mist, snow, light ing, etc. And 3D.
Appeared that the movie is not in 3D (which they cannot help but should mention!) and we only experienced movement and wind - though plenty of scenes with fire (smell), mist (mist), etc.
Oh ja, they had big flashes when there were gunfights, but instead of adding to the experience it made you aware you were in a move theatre (by displaying clearly everybody around you).
The moving chairs with multiple effects were nice for once. But we will never come back for this. Too expensive for little...
