Went last Wednesday (20/11) and was excited to try the food here. I had always been curious and the reviews sounded promising. Decided to get the 4-course dinner from the standard menu with wine pairing. Personally, I found the portions on the smaller side and I ended up still feeling a bit hungry by the end of the dinner. I overestimated the portions based on my experience having a 4-course dinner in other restaurants in Utrecht. The wine pairing was good from the aperitif until main course. The dessert wine unfortunately did not go very well with the hazelnut cake (maybe it's just my palate). The food was presented very nice visually. However, I think the main course was probably the one that tasted special. The rest was okay; they just were not very creative. Just a note for future guests: be aware that some things are not free and they were offered without that information. I just saw the receipt yesterday, and realised we were charged for the table water (5.50e) and the truffle shavings (11e) on our pasta dish. It is honestly fine to charge for both things, but I don't appreciate that we were not being made aware of this. Overall, it was an okay experience but the insufficient communication regarding prices made me not want...

We made a reservation for 5, and were strangely placed in the middle of the room despite an empty table for 5 in the corner.
Despite the service being friendly and amicable it definitely lacked for the fine dining experience — lack of care taken of us, and extremely long service between the dishes. No proper welcome, trying to push supplements and drinks, no clear story around wine, food was good, but kind of bland despite being made from nice and fresh ingredients.
We only got the mains and deserts after reminding that we’re waiting for those.
All in all, this is not what you expect when you pay €100+ per person.
Somewhat of a disappointment — if it was a family dinner it would have been an even harsher and stricter review, but we spent good time with the friends we haven’t seen...
Read moreArriving from Toronto, Canada we were directed by a local resident to Florent located just off the Neude. We were greeted and seated by warm and friendly staff. We were served tasty, fresh bread and presented with a menu that assured us of a culinary delight. We indulged ourselves in a vegetarian dish that was subtle, yet flavourful, surprising our taste buds with a pleasant texture. The fish was cooked to perfection and served along side fresh, crisp vegetables including a green that was new to us, again a texture that surprised and pleased, leaving us to wonder if it was from the earth or the sea. Our appetites didn't allow us to make it to dessert, but we plan a return visit next week to try them. The wine pairings were ample, the atmosphere was relaxing in its minimalist decor. Highly recommend, you will not be...
