This Sunday was the 4th time I had a brunch in Teds. Why? I simply love French toasts and Benedict eggs. And those are not very easy to find. The food is good. Bellini & Mimozas are great, so is coffee. There is however a but.
First and foremost: the menu is online only. It could be great. BUT! There is almost no internet since you are literally underground. There is wifi, not strong enough to even see the network available in some areas. If you’ve made an online menu - please, invest in amplifiers. It’s taking literally 15 minutes and one walk outside to choose food.
Service. This Sunday we were waiting for our coffee for 40 minutes. It arrived together with the food. Which is not bad, I just expected to wait for food, but didn’t quite expect to wait for drinks this long, since we were asked about them in first like 10 seconds after we got to the table. Previous time we were there with some friends, we were sitting outside, it was a lovely sunny day and I really wanted another drink, once I was finished with the first one. But no one ever came. Not even after we finished the food. We paid on the counter and just left. In general waitresses are very pleasant, speak good English, but it is not always easy to attract their attention. Or deserve it for that matter. And last but not the least. Tables inside are really small. As you can see on my photo, 2 cups of coffee and 2 breakfast plates do barely fit, one of the plates being partially in the air. Not only tables are small, but also they are very close to each other. It was an anniversary brunch for my husband and myself, and yet we were almost incapable of hearing each other, due to 2 very loud groups of ladies next to us. I understand there is little the cafe can do about it, and yet, it was an unpleasant bit.
So I definitely will be coming back, solemnly because of food. I won’t be counting much on the second...
Read moreThe restaurant is situated in the heart of the city, making it easily accessible and convenient for visitors exploring the area. The layout of the restaurant is split into two floors, with the option to sit outside on the lower level, right next to the canal. The view from here is fantastic, with the serene water adding to the already calming atmosphere of the restaurant. However, due to limited seating, it is highly recommended to make a reservation beforehand to avoid any disappointment.
The food offered in the restaurant is decent, with a range of options to cater to different tastes. One dish that stood out was the Croque Wonita, which was full of spices and had a strong aroma. If you are a fan of spicy food, then this dish is definitely worth a try. The Chicken Katsu, on the other hand, was just okay and didn't stand out as much.
Despite the average quality of the food, the service in the restaurant is fast and efficient. The staff are friendly and attentive, making sure that guests are well taken care of during their visit. Overall, the restaurant is a pleasant spot to grab a bite and enjoy the scenic view of the canal, and the quick service makes it a great option for those on a...
Read moreBeen wanting to go to this place since it opened, but somehow only just got around to it. I mean, all-day brunch, bloody genius! Add a good number of cocktails into the mix and you've got a winning formula. And it didn't disappoint... The food is de-lish!!! French toast with bacon, bananas and maple syrup; Ted's club and Parmasan fries with truffle mayonnaise were all to die for! Be sure to ask for extra maple syrup with the French toast!) Good coffee (cappuccino was better than the latte though) . They also do freak hot chocolates, we were too stuffed to dare order one. Next time! The decor is great too. The only downside was that they don't really have the process of getting people a table when it's very busy down... It's a popular place (for a reason), so when you have people coming in and there's a bit of a wait, the communication among the waitresses about when a table frees up, could be improved. Especially since you cannot make reservations on the weekend. We were in the one and only (standing) improvised waiting spot and from there saw two parties walk out. We actually informed the hostess - who had just sent some other customers away - about this ourselves. Otherwise a great...
