Thai 88 — Restaurant in Utrecht

Average score as there are some great and some bad aspects. The spring rolls are excellent, as were the free prawn crackers provided. It is more than enough food, and price seems okay.

Massaman curry was not very good unfortunately. It needed more aroma and to be balanced better. It should really contain roasted peanuts. More flavour from lemongrass, galangal, ginger, tamarind/lime/pineapple/bitter orange juice, any of these options to give it more depth. Massaman should not be spicy, but on the sweet side. Too much fish sauce.

Then again, there is no place anywhere near that does it better, so I can't...

The best Thai food in Utrecht! It was a small restaurant that can fit max 15 customets. The food is absolutely delicious- so flavorful and so fragrant. We ordered a shrimp Pad Thai (noodle), beef pad prik gaeng (a monthly special), and chicken Tom kha kai (a coconut milk based soup). They are all soo delicious, and they look stunning too. I hope they keep the pad prik gaeng in the menu because it was absolutely bomb! If you are the first time eating Thai food, just ordered what i got and you...

I had the best experience dining at Thai 88 with my friends. All of my friends were very happy and said they would come back to eat at Thai 88 again. The portions are very big, the food is very good and the price is excellent (we are all students and we really appreciate this aspect). Moreover, the service is amazing: they responded to my questions very quickly over email, and did the best they could to provide excellent service, even though the restaurant is quite small and busy....
