Bij Guusjes — Restaurant in Utrecht

This used to be one of my favorite places in Utrecht to have lunch. I've been there many times but after my experience yesterday, I won't be coming back (and I know you don't care about it).

I went for a lunch and it wasn't busy, only around 5 tables were being served. The waiter, showed in which table to sit and after that, she completely forgot about bringing the menu. Around 15 minutes after sitting, she came asking if she could help us with something. Maybe bringing the food and drinking menu?

After ordering, the drinks came, and I wish the food hadn't taken almost 30 minutes to arrive. Not only being that late with the food, me and my girlfriend ordered the pulled chicken club sandwich (which it's supposed to include bacon, according to their menu) and neither of the sandwiches had bacon. After mentioning the inconvenience to one of the girls working there, she apologised for it and made us a lovely discount of €1.40.

Lovely atmosphere and really nice folk working there but it’s a bit disorganised and service is slow. We’ve been regulars there for the last year or so and it seems to have came again in late May. Even more disorganised. Sorry won’t be coming again. Such a shame as it’s a lovely vibe

(Previously)gone downhill a bit recently. Burgers and pizza is good, fish specials tend to be expensive and small portions. Prices are quite high. Some staff seem very inexperienced. A cozy neighborhood restaurant. We came here because we received a dinner gift for our wedding and we'd found this once interesting. They have a lot of customers. We ordered chicken burger and catch of the day. My husband said that the chicken burger was the best he ever had so far, I had a bi6t and it indeed was super delicious. The fish was quite fresh and also very good, just taste a bit plain but it's grilled so understandable. Unfortunately the desserts were not that great, they didn't quite match the descriptions on the menu and I got white chocolate mousse which was not clarified either. So overall a 4...
