Rocking Chair — Restaurant in Utrecht

A lil love letter to my new favorite coffee place in Utrecht it's the first place I've found maybe in The NLs that has this kind of surfer vibe, really open, accepting, rly rly good music (playlist by Oscar) - it feels like everyone is welcome there, they're definitely alternative, but in that Auzzi/ZA way, not the bored, detached Ams way. You'll see 50 yo aunties there, design students, lawyers, entrepreneurs, pregnant women, guys in bike shorts and everyone is greeted with the warmest smile. I highly recommend 🤗 it's like my lil oasis, I take a spot by the window and just write or read and soak up...

Came for the scone, banana bread, espresso tonic, and cappachino. The coffees were good. Banana bread and scone were dry. We paid extra for the jam and cream, but got a small piece of refrigerated butter instead of the cream. Unsure if it’s because I was of darker skin color or if it’s because I was American. A mystery I’ll never get to the bottom of. The playing area for the kids was a plus but it was mid overall.

We had a wonderful brunch. The staff was great, the food amazing and the vibes were immaculate. When I walked in this morning I immediately received a shower of love! 3 hugs, the best filtered iced coffee - the barista's specialty - and the room was filled with energizing music.
