Restaurant Badhuis — Restaurant in Utrecht

We were very excited to eat here. We were half hour delayed and the staff were very accommodating which was great. However on arrival they brought drinks no food menu, which we had to ask for three times. Ordered a cocktail, the receipt was lost so it got hugely delayed - although the waitress realised and corrected it. No compensation thoguh. Food was very good looking, but starters were cold which was a shame. The fish in them was a bit lost in the mayonnaises and sauces. The mains were nice however, excellent fish well cooked. A bit pricy though at 25eur a plate (roughly) considering the size of the dish. We didn't get desert. When we ordered the waitress was surprised we didn't order a plate of fries - this seemed odd but made sense later! Overall enjoyable but...

We went in looking forward to a fresh steak tartar and received an indistinguishable pink paste laced with mayonnaise. The dish was beautifully decorated but awful in taste. We couldn’t bring ourselves to eat it. The waiter shrugged it off saying it was how all Dutch restaurants served it. We’d beg to differ, perhaps it could be better described as a 70s take on a filet americain, or a sort of minced prawn cocktail, but we were not in the mood to argue, and since the waiter offered nothing in return, we paid the bill and will definitely not be returning. Definitely it is a restaurant worst visit. We were in a big group and we had multiple course dinner .

their personnel's are friendly and welcoming. Teras space was not that big unfortunately and they did not have a great view.

The restaurant interior had a middle eastern vibe to it . they could also fit us (10 ppl) in a table which not many restaurants can handle it.

i would give them a compliment in their cocktails and how they did serve; good presentation.

the food was also delicious and tasty.

however the pricing was a bit high we end up paying around 38...
