Sat down for diner with two on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was averagely crowded. Waitress seemed rushed and took our order for drinks. jasmin tea and an ice tea. Then another server (no. 2) informed me they were out of tea. When I asked if they were out of ALL tea, she then said the "tea machine" was broken. Rather puzzling as coffee was being served without issue. Anyway, I got a ginger ale instead. Another waitress (no. 3) came to take our food orders, we ordered a kokoro tofu bowl and a cod mokutan soba with a side of veggie gyoza. The kokoro bowl and gyoza were served in about 5 minutes, no soba was served though. I awkwardly just sat there waiting as my friend ate her meal. After waiting for 10 minutes I inquired with the waitress (no.1) about my order of soba and she said it "was usual to take longer", I told her I found this separate serving out of meals rather strange and a minute later my soba was served. The gyoza tasted rather bland and unimpressive, the taste of both meals was alright however the soba noodles didn't seem too fresh - with a few hard and dry pieces. The flavour of the dish was great, though. After the food my friend ordered a latte machhiato which then came and turned out to be an espresso latte. Kinda puzzling. Despite not being super impressed with the service, the waiter that came with the bill was yet another person (no.4), I tipped generously but didn't even get a thank you. Safe to say that this was my last visit to...
Read moreI recently visited Wagamama in Utrecht centre and was blown away by the quality of the food and the overall experience. The atmosphere is modern and trendy, with an open kitchen that adds to the excitement of the meal. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure that your dining experience is enjoyable from start to finish.
The menu at Wagamama is extensive and offers a great variety of Japanese cuisine. I highly recommend trying the ramen noodles, which are rich and flavorful with tender meat and fresh vegetables. The rice bowls are also a great option, with a variety of sauces that pack a punch. The gyoza dumplings are a perfect appetizer, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
The prices at Wagamama are reasonable for the quality of the food and experience. The portion sizes are generous, and the service is quick and efficient, making it a great option for a quick lunch or dinner. The communal seating arrangement adds to the overall energy of the restaurant, and the lively atmosphere makes for a great dining experience.
Overall, I highly recommend Wagamama in Utrecht centre for anyone looking for delicious and authentic Japanese cuisine in a trendy and exciting atmosphere. The quality of the food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices make it a top choice...
Read moreBrought my children to try something new than the usuals and I have dined here few times now and love the food. We ordered with the help of QR code and food and drinks were served quite on time but one by one. Which was fine for the host had informed this when she showed us our table. We got to desserts, and one of the dessert (appelcake) was just ice cold served with sauce. My son tried to eat it but was just not possible to cut through with a fork! I notified a waiter who apologized and took it back. He comes after 10 seconds with the same one and without saying a word just serves and runs away. Again cake was just ice cold! Long story short waiter just avoided us afterwards and was not professional in caring to solve the issue. I walked up to him and informed my disappointment, he goes away and talks to his colleges laughing and not taking anything serious. At the end another waiter apologised and credited the amount for the dessert.
Food is amazing here, but pricey! And sadly you just notice easily how short staffed they are. I understand all this. But show some care to the guests no matter who they are and not...
