🍟 REVIEW – MANNEKEN PIS, UTRECHT CENTRAL “Fries with a crunch, flirts with a hint of annoyance”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4/5 – fries are great, flirts… not so much)
So there I was, standing in the famously long line at Manneken Pis Utrecht Central and trust me, the wait gives your date plenty of time to try some smooth talk while you’re just trying to focus on those golden fries. Not much of a romantic here, so when I’m ready to enjoy my crispy fries, I’m not exactly up for a love speech with a fry in hand.
The fries themselves? Crispy, perfectly golden, and seriously addictive. And the sauce selection… where do you even start? Truffel mayo is my go-to, but they have a whole arsenal of sauces, from sweet to spicy, enough to turn even the dullest fries into a party in your mouth. Sauces galore.
Honestly? Sometimes the fries are my best date, those flirty lines are easy to tune out with a big bite. Bonus: the fries fill you up nicely, even if you’re a slow eater like me.
📍 Conclusion: Manneken Pis at Utrecht Central is the spot for fries that make you forget there’s a lovebird fluttering next to you. And those sauces… an absolute party. Flirts come free, but you can totally ignore them when you’re all about that fry life.
Until the next bite from...
Read moreQuite dissapointed. I had take away fish and chips. Feels like I have recieved left overs from whatever it has been made too much for previous customer. Weird way of working, there was a customer before me , who got the portion of fish and chips. After the portion has been given away, there were some bits of fish left in the bowl when I placed order, but there were no chips. The bowl with fish was laying on side getting cold ,then in more less 2 minutes chips arrived as well as the next customer. The person who was working there took an order from a man, put fish in warm place and battered fish bits for next order. I thought fresh portion is also being made for me ,but then suprisingly, when she finished washing her gloves/hands, I recieved those, which were prepared before I came. Quality of food was not great, let's say 1/4 of the portion was mostly just the batter with hardly found skinny bits of fish, but what can you expect from left overs? I think you should remind your employees to pay attention to quality of food you serve ,especially when the price is 9,95 ( 3 euro more comparing to last year). To be fair with review, from time to time I do buy food from this place and most of the time it's good, but today's experience was...
