MENTA — Restaurant in Valkenburg aan de Geul

MENTA means mint in Greek language. Yes, it is a greek cafe bar restaurant. But the guys had made it a little different. Personally, i had the feeling i was on a Greek island. Of course, all the dishes are inspired by the greek cuisine. Bread is made by them, they have their own bakery! Food is really delicious, big portions also so you will never have the feeling you hadn't ate good or enough! Drinks. More than the typical, beers and wines, they also have some tsikoudia based cocktails. Tsikoudia is the traditional spirit of the Greek island of Crete. But in this case it is flavoured with honey, strawberry, caramel... Try the cocktails you will not regret it. And of course, you can find the famous Greek frappe coffee and espresso freddo (iced espresso). The owners and the people working there are one by one, will do your visit a whole experience. Speaking Greek (what a surprise), English and of course Dutch! Too bad for me i am living a bit away, or else i would be there twice a week at least! We had an excellent time with my Dutch girlfriend. Thank you guys and see you again!

We ordered the menta grill for 2, fired mushrooms and tigania.

When it was delivered it was a whole other order, so i called the restaurant to explain the situation, the owner explained thuisbezorgd did not change his menu so orders come through wrong.

He asked me what i would like from the menu and he would provide it, so i said surpise me, 25 minutes later he was at my door, and explained he brought us chicken with rice and some amazing sauce, home made cheese croquettes like with also some amazing sauce, and a awesome dessert.

Then he said it was 30 euro, we did not discuss that, on the phone it sounded like he would bring it no charge, he understood and it was misscommunication and he said its a gift from me is okay.

We wanted to take the time to write this review in hopes the owner sees it to.
