I recently visited Dinercafé Amadeus in Valkenburg and had a great experience. The atmosphere of the cafe was awesome, with a cozy and welcoming vibe. The staff were all very friendly and provided fast service, which was much appreciated given that the cafe was busy.

Cozy and welcoming café in the center of Valkenburg. Amadeus is a lovely spot located right on Grendelplein — ideal for lunch, dinner, or just a relaxing coffee. The atmosphere is warm and casual, with indoor and terrace seating, and even pet-friendly.

We tried the traditional Dutch pea soup and an apple pancake — both were fresh, tasty, and nicely portioned. The menu has a great variety: sandwiches, soups, salads, meat and fish dishes, pancakes, and local desserts like Limburgse vlaai. Vegetarian options are available too.

The staff were super friendly and attentive, making us feel very welcome. Service was quick and smooth.

A small downside: some extras (like bread or sauces) might be charged separately, and there have been occasional comments about pricing or minor service delays — but we didn’t experience any issues ourselves.

We had a terrible experience!!!

When we came into the restaurant there wasn't enough room to sit for all of us. The main waitress had 3 of us stand for 10 minutes before bringing chairs from upstairs even though there were empty seats right next to us (she explicitly said we cannot use them). After that, before giving us the chairs she urged us to order because it would be easier for her to just take one order from everyone.

My friend ordered a soup and asked if it comes with bread. When she received the soup, she was given an extra plate of bread on the side. When she said she didn't order that the waitress said she did and she will not change the order. The price for 4 pieces of bread?? 6.8 euros!!!!

When we ordered the bill, there was an additional charge for Ketchup and Mayo even though none of us ordered them.

The main waitress was extremely unpleasant to deal with. The rest of the staff was fine.
