Hotel Gaudi Valkenburg — Hotel in Valkenburg aan de Geul

Hotel is situated in the middle of the busiest/central roads of Valkenburg and has a pancake restaurant downstairs.

The family room is roomy and has comfortable beds.

However, room’s bathroom lacked from many things. We told the admin and they admitted they were in the middle of renovations (they didn’t tell us that in advance but they nicely charged us for the full amount). No soap, only shower gel and shampoo in a tube. No hairdryer. Shower didn’t have a door. Nowhere to hang your towels or place your toiletries. No bathroom floor mats. Water took literally 5 minutes to get warm! About the room, no night tables, we had to place our stuff on the floor. There was a tiny fan, maybe a bigger one taking into account the room size will make more sense.

There was not tea/coffee facilities in the bedroom and restaurant closes at 8 pm.

It’s very noisy. You hear everything! In the morning, the noise of the kitchen, in the night, the people walking, using the stairs, neighbors, people flashing the toilets, etc

Breakfast very basic (nice bread though) but don’t expect pancakes or waffles.

Overall, I hope the hotel take the ratings and the comments into consideration, it has potential considering the location but there is lots of room for...

We had dinner in the hotelroom and both chairs collapsed and our food fell on the ground. We contacted the hotel services and they said they would sent a staff member directly. After an hour she finally arrived. She did only pick the food up and threw it in a bag that she left in our room. The floor was still sticky and full of dirty pieces she didnt pick up. They also told us they would replace the chairs but they did not. We did not get a refund of some sort and we had to pay for new food somewhere around the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel. The staff is really bad and they do not care about there customers and are just out for your money... I stayed for one night and was not sure what to expect as it was my first time staying somewhere with a shared bathroom and toilet. However, I was greatly surprised by how clean and easy everything was. The staff was beyond helpful, kind, and friendly.

The room although small was perfect for my one night backpacking and the shower was easy to locate and very clean. Same with the toilet.

It is located on the busiest street in Valkenburg so on a Saturday night if your room is on the street side it will be a bit noisy. However, I was able to sleep with earplugs and a white-noise machine and was fine.

It is not a luxury stay, which I knew when booking, but it was more than enough for what I needed. And again the staff could not be more accommodating or friendlier.
