Seldomly have I stayed at a hotel/B&B where the staff was as hospitable and kind as at the B&B Prins Hendrik. Before our stay, I had a few questions and request which had to do with the covid regulations and the fact that we would be celebrating my mothers birthday while at the B&B. The hostess was extremely kind, proactive and flexible. ||||Upon arrival everything was well organized and we were received a warm welcome. The rooms were shown to us and we received a full tour and explanation with everything. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The owners did an amazing job with the decorating as it is quite stylish, yet cozy. Both the room and the bathroom looked very new and impeccably clean. Each room had lovely beds, a little seating area with large table, a wardrobe, hairdryer, TV etc. ||||The B&B is easy to reach by car and public transport. If your traveling by car, you can park in the garage underneath the market square. This is located right next to the B&B. If your taking the train of bus to the B&B, you'll only have to walk 10-15 minutes to get there. As it is so centrally located, all of the shops and museums are close by. As mentioned before, the B&B overlooks the market square. You'll have a nice view overlooking the market, and personally we didn't experience any noise pollution as a result of it. ||||The B&B, is located above the restaurant. It has it's own entry. As it is an historical building, it doesn't have an elevator. For us, this wasn't a problem, but it might me less suitable for people who aren't so sure footed. ||||The restaurant, located on the ground floor, is extremely cozy. Inside it is decorated with many historical artifacts and the architectural elements of the building and room are stunning. Think of gorgeous painted ceilings and stained-glass-windows. We had both dinner and breakfast at this establishment during our stay and both were lovely. During both, the staff was very attentive and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we could possibly want and they really took time to tell us about the city etc. ||||With breakfast, there are 5 set menu's but you can also ask for something extra or leave anything out as you please. I took the breakfast option which had some breadrolls, croissants, deli meats and cheeses, tea en orange juice. They also do eggs etc.||||Dinner was delicious too. Head on over to that review to read more about the menu and the quality of the food. ||||I would really recommend this B&B if you're looking to visit Venlo. We absolutely...
Read moreI arrived at B&B Prins Hendrik in Venlo last minute after a long and stressful day of travel, and was immediately met with such kindness. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, especially Anneke, who spoke English and took care of me right away. The room’s furnishings were a bit outdated, but it was clean, the bathroom was modern, and the water pressure in the shower was perfect. The bed was so comfortable and I loved looking over the town from the balcony. Venlo is a classic, beautiful old Dutch town, and this B&B has captured the best parts of the city’s history, while providing all the comforts of a modern hotel: fan, kettle, coffee, WiFi etc. I would happily return here and recommend Prins Hendrik to anyone looking for a central location to...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights in suite number two. What a beautiful room. Bright and airy with three windows that looked over the busy Saturday market area. Staff were great, very good breakfast provided in the accommodation price. Fantastic shower room, only thing missing was a few hooks on the wall to hang your clothes. Room was spotless. Complimentary water provided each day. Tea but no coffee also provided in room. Fly netting provided on room windows that opened. Very busy little corner to watch the world go by but very quiet at night. We really enjoyed our stay here and thanks to Anneke and Nancy and the other lady who looked after us so well at...
