Nena pizza — Restaurant in Venlo

Great pizza restaurant. Very original style of pizzas; very thin bottom, almost like a flammkuchen, but with a thicker edge to keep the fillings in/on the pizza, a bit like a pan-pizza, but also not just quite like that, but very unique. Very very tasty too. I had the carbo pizza, as I like pasta carbonara and was curious how it would be on a pizza, which turned out delicious. The waitress seemed a bit surprised by my eating by myself so at one point she came by to chat a bit, give some suggestions on where to go in and around Venlo and to say which pizza she preferred and why. The food and experience were so good that one or two days later I went back to try the pizza that the waitress had suggested, the house-brand 'Nena pizza'. This was also in their unique style of bottom, edge and filling and was also great. The food was very affordable, they had some nice wine to go with it and obviously very friendly staff. Would absolutely recommend eating here and will certainly return here myself next time...

Great atmosphere and food. Love the open kitchen and the stylish menu design. Nena understands they a smaller menu with several great dishes is better than a oversized menu with mediocre ones. The worst service I have ever experienced! 45 minutes we had to wait for our bottled drinks, and almost 2 hours (!!!) for a pizza. After two friendly inquiries, we were asked by the Chef pointed out that we could also leave the restaurant if we did not want to wait longer. Because the pizza was then (finally) brought at that moment, we stayed. The pizza was mediocre and not really a highlight. NO...
