De Vrienden van de Burgemeester — Restaurant in Zoetermeer

I had a reservation for a business lunch from the website earlier that morning.

When I arrived 10 minutes before the meeting, there was a large queue, and it was impossible to talk to anyone. After additional 10 minutes, I was escorted to a nice table by the window and told to wait for service.

Two minutes later, I was informed that they had mistakenly assigned me to the wrong table, despite my name being prominently displayed on a large blackboard. I was then relocated to a small, cramped, and excessively noisy table at the back of the restaurant, causing significant inconvenience.

I complained, and it was communicated that it was my fault that I had made a reservation with them. After a bit of reshuffling, I managed to get a table at another nearby restaurant.

I strongly advise against using this restaurant and for the Burgermeister to get better friends. Perhaps remember that bartenders are normally the best friends money can buy.

PS! The burgers they served looked extremely pre-fabricated and were significantly overpriced, a point to consider for those planning...

This was my second time visiting this place. The first time was amazing, the restaurant looks great, it still does! But this time my visit was full of disappointments. I ordered a 'Grote Mannenburger' and the taste of it was fine but it just wasn't great. You couldn't eat it properly at all. Everyone's else food wasn't great either.

The waiting time were long when it came down to food and dessert. The drinks came quite fast though.

The dessert was also a disappointment. We ordered the 'Grote Kinderverassing'. It would be a dessert with surprise flavours for children... They gave us pistache flavored ice cream, for children this is a very bad option. The other ice creams were also not great, the pieces of fruit were huge and the ice cream itself wasn't that tasteful.

The staff wasn't very active. They were busy doing a lot of things and couldn't make a lot of time for us. We didn't feel very welcome. I don't feel like coming back again...

We visited De Vrienden van de Burgemeester and was initially excited because the food looked very appetizing. I ordered the steak, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. The first one I received was cold and extremely tough—like rubber—and it took a lot of effort to chew. I asked one of the staff if it could be replaced, and he was very kind and helpful, which I appreciated.The second steak took a while to arrive and came with the wrong sauce, but I didn’t want to complain further as I was quite hungry.
