The food itself was reasonably nice but the service from the staff was extremely poor. No one greeted us when we arrived. We were waiting at a table for about 15 minutes until we asked a staff member who was cleaning tables. He told us we needed to order at the bar. We didn't mind but the fact that it was quiet, lots of staff walked past us and no one told us.
We ordered some drinks with our dinner, and the staff forgot to bring our drinks out. We had to remind the staff as they walked past our table, his reply was "oh that's right, I forgot".
When the staff brought our food out they didn't bring any cutlery. We ended up grabbing some ourselves from another table.
We were the last people in the restaurant around 7:30pm and the staff were hanging around our table waiting to grab our plates as we finished. They even turned some of the lights off as if they were hinting they were closing up soon. Made us feel very uncomfortable.
They also had two platters. One was $70 and the other was $130. $130 platter is supposed to feed 4-5 people. We has 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 6, 9 and 13). We thought the platters were very small and it was lucky we had 3 kids with us because if that was 5 adults it wouldn't have been enough. I would say that platter would only be big enough for 3 adults. I never got a chance to see the size of the $70 platter but my guess is it would only be big enough to feed one adult.
They apologized at the end of the night after my partner made a complaint and they offered my kids some ice cream but that definitely didn't compensate us for the extremely...
Read moreWent on a Grab One deal - must admit that my visit was very underwhelming especially after the previous time I was there and had a good experience. We did book as advised to on the voucher and got plonked at a table right next to the bar. My partner and I order the small beef brisket, salmon, potato skins and seasonal veg...... beef brisket was very disappointing to the point where we both actually wondered if this was all we got for $17...one very small slice that was about 5ml thick. Salmon was OK but quite overcooked. Seasonal salad came out instead of seasonal veg and when I queried this the waitress told me that I had ordered the seasonal salad.....we eventually got our seasonal veg which consisted of some very overcooked green beans and sliced mushroom that were so small and indistinguishable that I wondered what they were. The only real highlight were the potato skins....overall impression food overpriced and under delivered - thank goodness for the Grab One discount. Also, no meal check done and no table service - had to go to the bar for everything even water.......left feeling very...
Read moreTLDR - Not good value for money.
Went there for lunch and a few beers with 4 friends. Overall, beers were rather bland (sentiment shared by all my friends) and very expensive ($11-$14), they didn't come in 'pint' glasses but much smaller glasses.
Lunch was equally disappointing. The tofu sandwich (called sandwiches but they're basically burgers) was grossly overpriced. One slice of tofu which had the consistency of scrambled egg in a bun for $19.50... My friends who got the meat options also weren't impressed.
Other factors which contributed to the experience (but not the fault of those working there)
A market was on in the carpark which meant on street parking only Only 2 staff behind the bar (this led to very long queues) 40 minute wait for food to arrive Overcharged for beer as a result of their sign not being up to date with the correct price (staff were made aware and resolved the issue)
Silver linings Staff were clearly struggling to keep up with demand but were very friendly. A nice building with nice...
