Mt Albert Dumpling House — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

We've just moved to the neighbourhood and decided to check out Dumpling House, my partner and I tired and hungry from cleaning and moving.

The welcome was warm and friendly, the beer cold, and the food excellent. We had shredded pork in fish sauce over noodles, and pork mince and pickled cabbage dumplings in a spicy sauce. Good lord, it was delicious and plentiful. We slurped down the noodles and finished all the dumplings.

We've had some pretty mediocre Chinese food from another place, and we've had some very good South East Asian "fusion" food from two or three other places, but it's nice to find a spot that serves excellent food straight up. We will definitely be back to...

DELICIOUS! Their pork and coriander dumplings in hot and sour soup are incredible - tasted yum and were light and easy on my tummy even after devouring all 20 of them because they were so good I couldn't stop eating them 😅 Excellent service from a passionate foh lady co owner who is also a new mum with a wonderful story behind the business. The other owner is the chef who dishes out the amazing food- which is exciting as it positively impacts the consistency in taste. I'm excited to try their other dishes!

Absolutely fantastic food - especially steamed beef coriander dumplings but unfortunately the behaviour of the lovely lady at the counter has been pretty awful, maybe racist? For our first visit, we thought it was just normal, but we have now been there three times and the general behaviour towards other customers vs the treatment towards us has been pretty obvious. Dont want to get into too much detail but this is 2025. I thought we were way past this. Unfortunately not though. As much as I’d like to go back, never will simply on the nasty attitude for absolutely no reason....
