Fair bakery. Always seem to be busy, and the service is very friendly.
They bake a white sandwich loaf ($4.20) which, while not exactly the best white sandwich bread to be had, is better than the mass-produced bumf or supermarket-baked white loaf. And they slice it at sandwich thickness. I mean, sometimes you just want a sandwich loaf for toast or peanut butter sandwiches.
I'm a bit disappointed in the pie ($6.00) I got today. Again, it's a fair one, good filling, pie for the course, but the pastry was undercooked. While the top was golden, the body was a bit pale, and, once bitten through, you could see a half-raw layer of dough.
I'll give them one more try. I haven't eaten pies from many places yet, but so far, Green Bay Oven Fresh Bakery's pies ($6.50)...

I have now visited the bakery around four times in the last couple of months during hours when it is supposed to be open only to find it closed. Sometimes it has opened later on in the day after I have gone elsewhere for my morning pie while sometimes there is a hand-written message saying they are closed for the day with apologies.
My request to the owners is this - please try to stick to your stated hours and don't inconvenience customers. And if you cannot maintain regular hours then please shut down the bakery and do...

The soups this winter were amazing!i loved the pea and ham. They have award winning pies and today I saw a steak and jalepeno pie, for those with adventurous taste buds!
