Turkish To Go Papamoa — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

I can't rate the food because the service is so absolutely terrible that we couldn't even get food. I went there after doing the grocery shopping with my family in the car. I ordered some fish and chips from the shop next door (which is a fantastic place for chinese and fish n chips) thinking that usually this would take longer than ordering a kebab. I went in line, there were many people there but they had 4-5 people in the kitchen. It literally took 5 minutes between each person in line putting in orders with a man spending his entire time on the phone. After waiting 25 minutes and knowing that my children would be getting bored and the food at the fish n chip shop cold I had to leave. There were about 3 people in front of me that had already left.

These guys need to manage their busy times better. Have someone take orders and ask for them to wait, giving them an estimated time of when the order is ready. Prioritise people in the store like you would if they called in an order (who calls in orders for kebabs anyway - its like phoning in a mcdonalds order?).

Firstly, the welcome into the spot wasn’t the friendliest. However, you go to places like this to get a tasty meal. Ordered a large falafel salad and a side of fries. Probably the most disappointing aspect of the meal was the little amount of lettuce given for a L salad. The overall freshness was decent with all the ingredients together. I did enjoy the flavour of the falafels. However, when microwaving the falafel’s rather than freshly firing them, did cause them to be on the drier side. Really bad customer service. Not friendly and seems like the server did not want to be there. I understand it was dinner time with phone orders etc but there wasn't overly alot of people in the restaurant. Very over priced for a chicken kebab at $17 and the chips were a very steep $7.50 for a pathetic amount. I live 2 minutes away and the kebab was luke warm at best by the time I got home. Disappointing to say the least. Does not compare to Mount branch which always has good service...
