Read moreWeâd previously been put off by the busyness of the Beach Bar, but as our table next door wasnât ready yet we popped in for a drink whilst we waited. We got a spot in the window with the best view ever. But it was freezing with the windows and both outside doors open. My drink was lovely and well presented but there the good points stop. The noise is so deafening itâs almost impossible to have a conversation. I donât understand how bars donât consider their space in relation to the volume. Thereâs no soft furnishings, no carpet, drapes or any sound proofing to soak up the noise. Itâs busy so people are chatting and laughing. People who get louder as they compete with the music and each other. Now I appreciate we are older than the intended demographic. But weâre not dead yet. It wasnât the music that was the issue, it was the volume. The Favourite Husband is slightly deaf (although that appears to be selective) and it was too loud for him. Youâd have thought anything that drowned me out would have delighted him, but no.
Itâs fair to say the person having the best...

We waited for a little bit as they were slightly busy at the time of our arrival, but they didnât greet us and continued to walk past us and we were ignored. I guess we werenât sure on the style that they service, we found a table and quickly found out we had to go up and order ourselves. The bar tended was the best service out of the lot to be honest, he was kind and funny, even let us try the slushies in a small cup before deciding on flavours. After ordering, our food came out and it was amazing but our drinks were dripping onto the floor a lot. Otherwise, food and...
