UPDATED:
No phone call from night time "manager" Samantha (i.e. Sam), in order to let me know of the outcome of her talk with the daytime restaurant manager...
Downgraded by one star for service, specifically for lying, for not keeping the customer updated and rightfully so.
Evidently, there may be a voucher waiting for me at the premises, however I would have to go and get it- As I rarely go in this direction, these days- It was a problem, thus the request for a phone call.
In conclusion, I do NOT recommend this particular McDonald's franchise- Due to its numerous inconsistencies, lack of owning up to their mistakes, specifically from Samantha, the night time "manager". I strongly recommend readers not to just take my words for it, read the other reviews available- And, One will see for himself or herself that my case is NOT, by any mean, an isolated incident. The management seems to make points of conveniently forgetting receipts, even though One had asked for a receipt thrice. I had to request a duplicate receipt; As the young boy, who brought my order, lied to me about the receipt being in the take away bag- Alas, being discerning, smart and extremely well educated (i.e. And clearly humble too. From The editorial team)- I checked and sure enough it wasn't! Hence, the picture of the duplicate receipt.
PS: I also recall, after looking at my food reviews' notes- As I do from time to time or when I have to. The night time "manager" did say that she would bring the order to my car, she never did! That makes for a seriously dysfunctional, lying and supercilious...
Read moreTERRIBLE SERVICE! I dropped into the McCafe on Monday 9th October at approximately 2.30pm to get a single shot latte take out. I had my own takeaway cup with me as we are attempting to be a little more environmentally friendly. The service was abysmal. The McCafe staff member finally managed to drag herself away from a stimulating long-winded conversation with an older gentleman while she was emptying the bins - ONLY after she was asked to serve at the counter by someone on the burger side of the store. I would estimate that I was there for about two minutes before even that happened. She then continued to empty the bins, then brought the full rubbish bag in behind the counter. THEN she said that she would be with me in a minute as she had to wash her hands (thankfully). About three minutes after I ordered - I visited the toilets in the meantime - I went back to the counter to witness her pouring my latte out of one of their takeout cups into my own cup. At least she had a fairly guilty expression on her face I guess. So, while I'm trying to assist the environment by saving a cup, she had used one of theirs and wasted it. ANNOYING! To top the whole thing off my coffee wasn't even what I ordered - it was a double shot, rather than single and had a strange flavour to it. I could not be bothered going back in after that whole debacle. I'm glad that I was only passing through the town, so I don't have to go through that...
Read moreI ordered a clubhouse crispy chicken wrap for $11.70 off the self-serve kiosk, received it in a cardboard burger box with no wrap, no buns. Went to the counter to get the right one, the thankfully enthusiastic and helpful man with a mullet proceeded to tell me they only do the aoli wrap - not understanding what he meant I said I'll just take that and the wrap I got was the cheaper $9.80 wrap, despite paying $11.70 for the gourmet wrap. He didn't offer me a refund or anything and I didn't want to continue to complain.
Ah well.
After the fact, checking the MC Donald's app, I can see that the item I orded is not a wrap, but is instead a burger that just has the buns removed and it's my fault for not checking the item description first. My beef is with MC Donald's corporate: it wasn't apparent when ordering on the self-serve kiosk that the item isn't a wrap, especially considering that the photo for the item shows it wrapped in a sheet of paper that looks very similar to a wrap. This is also considering that you can customise any item you order from the self-serve kiosk's, very easily, to remove the buns from any regular burger and other items that might have gluten in them. Which begs the question: why have a menu item that's just a burger without buns, when the option to remove buns from any item has existed for well over the past decade.
Nice MC Donald's in Timaru, but the loaded lettuce is a...
