Sometimes all you want is a good steak and dessert, alas this didn't happen. Medium rare steak was well done and tough and the garlic butter had zero garlic. Simple ice cream bar was a disappointment, the containers that the ice cream sauces came in were from another table and half empty, we had to ask for them to be topped up. Raspberry chocolate tart casing tasted like plastic, and we questioned where was the chocolate as it was so bland...a plain custard filling, why not chocolate? The server really didn't want to engage with us at all and not once did he come back to check on our table, we got the impression that he really didn't want to be there. We gave this place a second chance but won't...

Quite disappointed with the staff, not what i would call welcoming, too busy with their own issues an conversations to realise i was virtually the only person standing at the bar waiting to be served🤔.A smile goes a long way. No table service to see if we would like a drink at the table. I too worked for many years in hospitality and this isn’t it.If you have Falafal salad on the menu could you at least please make an authentic hand made real deal Falafal and not one pre processed deep fried out of the freezer for your guests. My partner had tge lamb shank which he enjoyed, being an ex farmer he would of said if it was not. After spending $140 we won’t be...

Great place to have a feed and a glass or two.

The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to accomodate our wee puppy which we had in tow. We sat outside with a dog bowl of fresh water. (It's the little things that make the difference).

The building was a great venue, very clean and tidy. Obviously well looked after, which speaks volumes to me about the attitudes of the people running it.

The food was great with a good variety of food. Some asain inspired dishes which was nice. We had the twice cooked pork belly and the chicken schnitzel. Both were very tasty and nicely cooked. (Compliments to the chefs).

Sincerest thanks team. A great...

We ordered the steak and it was well cooked, their red wine jus complimented the steak very well. Their ribs portion was huge and delicious. The potatoes wedges were fried to perfection whereby the outside is lightly crispy and super soft on the inside (not dry). It’s the little things that made it stands out from the rest. Lastly, you have to order their sticky date pudding. It was moist, dense and not too sweet (in a good way). Just when we thought we over ordered with the mains and couldn’t eat anymore, we finished the dessert easily. I would say this was one of the best SDP that we ever had.

Was a pretty disappointing meal, a tiny, tiny little amount of chips and the Angus beef pattie tasted like a genetic frozen supermarket pattie, extreamly processed, very average . Brioche didn't taste like Brioche at all, more like an ordinary white bread bun. For 28 bux a pop you'd expect a decent feed but it was severely lacking. And the girl at the bar was extreamly unfriendly and hostile. Can't say I would recommend this place

I had the pleasure of dining here during a recent trip from Lake Tekapo to Christchurch, and it was a fantastic choice for lunch. The food was excellent, with a diverse menu that catered to all tastes. The service was friendly and attentive, making our visit enjoyable and relaxing. If you're traveling through Ashburton, this place is definitely worth a stop!
