You know there is something wrong when you have to yell to get staff attention as they walk past you. Once would be ok but twice, not impressed three times!!!. Table needed a wipe down, spilt food on the floor which wait staff noted but made no effort to remedy. That was the first yell to get attention to attend to the table. Given this is during a pandemic, this is absolutely not acceptable. The 2nd was worse. I noted the staff taking my order to another table, yelled out, waved my table identifier, but nothing. She continued to talk to the persons whose order it clearly wasn't, before she turned around looking for the correct table, I had to wave my arms. I said I was also waiting for a cake, she looked confused, went to the counter, and had a discussion, with no action. I could clearly see my cake on the top, again calling out and saying that's my cake. Jeez, what a struggle. Left more bemused than annoyed. Wheres the pride and passion for customer...
Read moreI stopped by Coffee Culture at lunchtime for a mocha latte, and it’s the best I’ve had so far in Christchurch! I’ve been hooked on mocha drinks ever since a tea-tasting ceremony in Japan, where I had the most unforgettable mocha.
The mocha latte here had a well-balanced portion of tea powder, delivering a pure, smooth, and hearty taste—perfect for colder weather. However, the mocha powder didn’t fully dissolve, which was a bit disappointing—definitely could use a better tea whisk.
The customer service was fantastic! The staff were super friendly, and I was especially impressed by the person taking orders—patient, welcoming, and greeting everyone with a warm smile.
The café is also in a great spot, surrounded by a variety of stores, making it a convenient and enjoyable place to visit. Definitely worth a stop if you’re...
Read moreI keep coming back thinking it's going to get better, but I need to stop putting myself through it. I struggle to understand why there is always such a wait, regardless of whatever the staff/ customer ratio might be. Being told coffee has a 10 min wait is perfectly acceptable, but not when it arrives after 25 mins. Always seem to be plenty of staff at the weekend but if anything that makes it look/ seem even more inefficient. Coffee was really good when this first opened but has deteriorated somewhat and the one today was watery and tasteless. Kids are always happy with the fluffy and the cheese scone is consistently good. Also on one occasion a staff member was very accommodating and understanding when my toddler broke a glass at one of the outside tables. Will unfortunately be going elsewhere...
