Had the absolute misfortune of coming for lunch here. The service was slow, but forgivable. However, what is not, is being coeliac and asking for gluten free and then having a reaction from my lunch. We got home and my friend phoned them to inform them of this as I was too sick at this point to do it myself, to which the manager phoned her back and not only didnāt offer any type of refund, but tried to argue his case on how the food I was given was all gluten free and prepared in a separate area. As I told him, this was the only thing I had eaten that day, so unfortunately this wasnāt the case. He proceeded to ask what my symptoms were (which actually was quite embarrassing to discuss) and if I had a doctor to go to. I live in the UK, so donāt have a doctor here but also, just felt he didnāt believe what I was saying. No apology. Nothing to try and make the situation slightly better. If you have any sort of food intolerance or allergy I would absolutely steer clear as it clearly isnāt taken seriously. Very...

We were not greeted immediately and took a bit of time for anyone to realise we were standing at the counter. The brunch took over 40 mins to come out, the waiting staff got our coffee order wrong, and my poached egg was a bit overcooked, but we did not mind the wait and it was understandable because I know the place is relatively new and we were there on a busy Saturday morning when it ran special promotions. The food tasted delicious regardless. The coffee was freshly brewed and lukewarm. We will come back because I believe there is a potential and room for improvement.
Updates: 04/03/2023 We went back there as promised. The owner, Jai, recognised me straight away. He and hus staff were friendly as usual. Hot drinks were up to Melbournian standards. Brunch was cooked to perfection. Poached eggs did have gooey yolks. I have upgraded my reviews to 5 stars....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have just moved into the area and have been looking for a local, we have given InSitu three chances now. There seem to be ongoing staff shortages which is understandable in today's environment however today was the last straw. For my son I ordered fries $13.50 plus extra for extra tomato sauce and a brownie. The fries came out with a third of the bowl full, very stingy for the price. There was a hair in his hot chocolate and when I took it back the reaction was NO and upon me pointing to the obvious hair we were made another one with a disgruntled attitude. Certainly no apology. I ordered the brunch which was nice and I enjoyed it but i had to come home and cook my son food as he was still hungry. They seem overwhelmed and customer service is below par. We were keen to make this our local as it is so handy and the outlook is lovely but every time we have been it is the same. Probably...
